El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi participación para el concurso de arte semanal de @splinterlands . Para el dibujo de esta semana he decidido hacer al personaje THE HERBALIST.

Decidí hacer este dibujo porque me gustó mucho el personaje, sus características y sobre todo, porque le gustan las hierbas. Siempre es divertido hacer a los personajes, ya que su vestimenta es atípica para mí, no es algo que suelo hacer, además su cabello y otros rasgos son muy diferentes a los que estoy acostumbrado a realizar. Pero aun así es un proceso de aprendizaje para mí, a medida que hago estos dibujos mejoro un poco mis habilidades, aprendo a hacer diferentes tipos de ropa, de peinados, de ambientes y me obliga a trabajar la imaginación y eso es muy bueno, ya que muy pocas veces me veo obligado a usar referencias para hacer algo el específico.

A continuación les mostraré el proceso de como realicé este dibujito ¡Vamos a ello!.

• Today I want to share with you my participation for the Splinterlands weekly art contest. For this week's drawing I decided to do the character THE HERBALIST.

• I decided to do this drawing because I really liked the character, his characteristics and above all, because he likes herbs. It's always fun to do the characters, since his clothing is atypical for me, it's not something I usually do, plus his hair and other features are very different from what I'm used to do. But still it is a learning process for me, as I do these drawings I improve my skills a little, I learn to make different types of clothes, hairstyles, environments and it forces me to work my imagination and that is very good, because very rarely I am forced to use references to do something specific.

El primer paso es realizar un boceto, dicho boceto puede ser muy detallado o como en mi caso, puede ser algo con el cual te puedas guiar, no lo considero muy detallado porque no es un LineArt muy exacto, solo es una idea de lo que quiero colorear, esto me permite agregar o quitar cualquier elemento en algún momento determinado sí que así lo requiero.

Luego procedí a realizar un estudio de color, en el cual me tardé bastante porque estuve calibrando los colores de mi monitor y pasé varias horas tratando de buscar los tonos correctos. Al final puede calibrar mi monitor de una manera adecuada, no perfecta, pero sí algo muy cercano a la realidad. Cómo podrán observar, quise utilizar muchos colores verdes en este dibujo, más que todo porque él es amante de las hierbas verdes, por eso quise que dicho color fuera el más predominante. Luego en el fondo le agregué colores azules y un color marrón para colorear a los árboles.

• Then I proceeded to make a color study, which took me a long time because I was calibrating the colors of my monitor and spent several hours trying to find the right tones. In the end I was able to calibrate my monitor in an adequate way, not perfect, but something very close to reality. As you can see, I wanted to use a lot of green colors in this drawing, mostly because he is a lover of green herbs, so I wanted that color to be the most predominant. Then in the background I added blue colors and a brown color to color the trees.

Una vez que tenía los colores base aplicados, procedí a colorear el dibujo, para ello empecé por la parte superior coloreando el fondo y los árboles. Siempre me tomo mi tiempo al colorear, ya que es como si coloreara en una hoja normal, soy muy cuidadoso con cada detalle y me gusta que todo quede perfecto. Mientras iba coloreando los árboles fui agregando y mezclando otros colores, algunos azules un poco grisáceos para las sombras y le agregué algo de color verde para que combinara con los arbustos y diera la sensación de que en esa zona hay algo de vegetación, sinceramente nunca lo había hecho, pero me encantó el resultado así que lo haré más seguido. Luego coloreé los arbustos que están en esa zona, primero agregué los tonos de verde más oscuros y luego fui agregando los colores más claros.

Ya teniendo la parte de arriba terminada llegó la hora de comenzar con la parte de abajo. Primero empecé por los arbustos que están justo atrás del personaje, utilicé la misma técnica que con los arbustos de arriba pero esta vez cambié la forma de las hojas y las hice más redondeadas. Luego coloreé las rocas que estaban por ahí y agregué algunas flores extra para decorar. Terminada esa parte procedí a colorear el césped, al cual le agregué un poco de tierra, así que fui combinando los colores verdes y marrones. Honestamente, me encantó como quedó el césped y agregarle algo de tierra, es algo que me cambió la vida 🤣 le da mucha más vida al suelo y se siente más real

• Once I had the base colors applied, I proceeded to color the drawing, for this I started with the upper part coloring the background and the trees. I always take my time when coloring, since it is as if I were coloring on a normal sheet, I am very careful with every detail and I like everything to be perfect. While I was coloring the trees I was adding and mixing other colors, some blue a little bit grayish for the shadows and I added some green color to combine with the bushes and give the sensation that in that area there is some vegetation, honestly I had never done it, but I loved the result so I will do it more often. Then I colored the bushes that are in that area, first I added the darker shades of green and then I added the lighter colors.

• Having the top part finished it was time to start with the bottom part. First I started with the bushes that are just behind the character, I used the same technique as with the bushes above but this time I changed the shape of the leaves and made them more rounded. Then I colored the rocks that were around and added some extra flowers to decorate. Once that part was finished I proceeded to color the grass, to which I added some soil, so I was combining the green and brown colors. Honestly, I loved how the lawn turned out and adding some soil to it is something that changed my life 🤣 it gives a lot more life to the ground and it feels more real.

Una vez terminado el fondo llegó la hora de colorear al personaje. Siempre hago el mismo proceso, así que también empecé por la parte que está más atrás del todo jaja. Lo primero que hice fue colorear las hojas y el bolso de madera que tiene, como las hojas también son verdes estás las hice con un tono más claro para que se diferenciaran del fondo, también agregué una margarita porque un dibujo mío sin una margarita está incompleto. Luego procedí a colorear el cabello y el rostro. Normalmente, no suelo hacer este tipo de cabellos pero fue divertido hacer a un hombre con trenzas, creo que lo haré más seguido, para el rostro esta vez cambié un poco en el estilo de los ojos, si siguen mis dibujos desde hace tiempo no sé si verán alguna diferencia pero sí los quise cambiar un poquito.

Después de haber coloreado el rostro me puse manos a la obra y empecé a colorear el resto del dibujo. Primero empecé por la camisa, luego coloreé la maceta y las flores a las cuales también le agregué otra margarita, para finalizar esa parte coloreé la mano y el guante. Esta parte fue graciosa porque en el boceto se me había olvidado agregarle los guantes, y lo que hice fue pasarle el color marrón en esa parte pero le daba mucha risa porque parecía una mano sucia 🤣. Lo bueno es que era en el estudio de color y aquí ya lo pude corregir. Para finalizar coloreé su bolsito de lado, el pantalón y las botas.

• Once the background was finished it was time to color the character. I always do the same process, so I also started with the back part haha. The first thing I did was to color the leaves and the wooden bag she has, as the leaves are also green I made them with a lighter tone to differentiate them from the background, I also added a daisy because a drawing of mine without a daisy is incomplete. Then I proceeded to color the hair and the face. Normally, I don't usually do this kind of hair but it was fun to make a man with braids, I think I will do it more often, for the face this time I changed a little bit the style of the eyes, if you follow my drawings for a long time I don't know if you will see any difference but I wanted to change them a little bit.

• After coloring the face I got down to work and started coloring the rest of the drawing. First I started with the shirt, then I colored the flower pot and the flowers to which I also added another daisy, to finish that part I colored the hand and the glove. This part was funny because in the sketch I had forgotten to add the gloves, and what I did was to pass the brown color in that part but it gave him a lot of laughter because it looked like a dirty hand 🤣. The good thing is that it was in the color studio and here I was able to correct it. To finish I colored her little bag on the side, the pants and the boots.

Hacer este dibujo me llevo un buen rato, ya que debido a la calibración del monitor me empezó a doler la cabeza y a arder la vista durante varios días, puesto que durante la calibración el monitor estaba con el brillo sumamente alto, y lamentablemente no le podía bajar el brillo porque los botones del monitor no funcionan 🤣.

Terminarlo me tomó unas 24 horas de dibujo total, fue algo demorado pero valió la pena y estoy muy satisfecho con el resultado.

• Making this drawing took me quite a while, because due to the calibration of the monitor my head started to hurt and my eyes burned for several days, since during the calibration the monitor was with the brightness extremely high, and unfortunately I couldn't lower the brightness because the monitor buttons don't work 🤣.

• Finishing it took me about 24 hours of total drawing, it was a bit delayed but it was worth it and I'm very satisfied with the result.
