El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi participación para el concurso de arte semanal de @splinterlands . Para el dibujo de esta semana he decidido hacer al personaje KRALUS.

Para ser honesto con ustedes, elegí hacer este personaje porque me encantó su diseño, pero una vez que leí la historia ya sabía lo que iba a dibujar. Yo siempre trato de leer la historia de cada personaje para poder hacer una ilustración única, en este caso me inspiré en la parte en donde los tigres de su especie entregan bebés a domicilio. Por lo tanto, decidí hacerlo a él y al bebé que sale en la imagen, me pareció una manera interesante de interpretar el dibujo porque en este caso Kralus no pudo entregar a este bebé y decidió adoptarla, con el pasar de los años se hicieron inseparables y demuestran que su amistad no tiene fin.

• Today I want to share with you my participation for the @splinterlands weekly art contest. For this week's drawing I decided to do the character KRALUS.

• To be honest with you, I chose to do this character because I loved his design, but once I read the story I already knew what I was going to draw. I always try to read the story of each character to be able to make a unique illustration, in this case I was inspired by the part where the tigers of his species deliver babies at home. Therefore, I decided to make him and the baby in the image, I found it an interesting way to interpret the drawing because in this case Kralus could not deliver this baby and decided to adopt her, over the years they became inseparable and show that their friendship has no end.

Lo primero que hice fue el boceto, en esta ocasión fue más sencillo de lo habitual, ya que siempre suelo hacer muchos bocetos antes de escoger el que más me guste, pero en este caso ya tenía una idea en mente. Y era hacer al tigre posando en una montaña y a la niña sobre su lomo abrazándolo. En este punto es donde hice algunos cambios con respecto al original, originalmente el tigre es el que tiene alas, pero yo decidí cambiar eso y le agregué las alas a la niña. Esto lo hice para darle mi toque personal y además encuadra más con la composición que quería hacer.

Luego de hacer el boceto, hice un estudio de color muy rápido, usando los colores originales de Kralus y de la niña. Con un fondo sencillo con unas nubes hermosas y un pequeño risco con mucha naturaleza.

• The first thing I did was the sketch, this time it was simpler than usual, as I always make many sketches before choosing the one I like the most, but in this case I already had an idea in mind. And that was to make the tiger posing on a mountain and the girl on his back hugging him. At this point is where I made some changes from the original, originally the tiger is the one with wings, but I decided to change that and added the wings to the girl. I did this to give it my personal touch and it also fits more with the composition I wanted to do.

• After making the sketch, I did a very quick color study, using the original colors of Kralus and the girl. With a simple background with beautiful clouds and a small cliff with lots of nature.

Luego de hacer el estudio de color empecé a detallar algunas partes y también coloreé el cielo azul con las nubes, pero al final ese resultado no me gustó mucho, así que decidí cambiar el fondo completamente. En una capa diferente hice un cielo nuevo, con nubes nuevas y colores nuevos, en este caso decidí utilizar colores pasteles, algunos rosas, morados, cremas y azules. Para mí fue una decisión acertada, ya que le dio otro aire al dibujo.

Una vez que hice el cambio en el fondo empecé a colorear, en este caso también empecé coloreando las nubes, lo hice de forma similar que con el fondo anterior, pero esta vez mezcle un poco más los colores y también me tomé más libertad a la hora de colorear.

Después de terminar el fondo comencé a colorear el risco de la montaña, primero coloreé las hojas que están en la parte izquierda de la ilustración, así que me tomé mi tiempo y fui mezclando los tonos de verde que estaban ahí, agregando luces y sombras donde salían nuevas hojas, también coloreé las raíces que salían de la tierra y agregué algunas hojas extra para dar más detalle. Luego coloreé la parte de tierra y las rocas que están en la parte derecha, como detalles, finales coloreé las flores que están en esa parte del dibujo y agregué más detalles extra.

• After doing the color study I started to detail some parts and I also colored the blue sky with the clouds, but in the end I didn't like that result, so I decided to change the background completely. In a different layer I made a new sky, with new clouds and new colors, in this case I decided to use pastel colors, some pinks, purples, creams and blues. For me it was the right decision, since it gave another air to the drawing.

• Once I made the change in the background I started coloring, in this case I also started coloring the clouds, I did it in a similar way as with the previous background, but this time I mixed the colors a little more and I also took more freedom when it came to coloring.

• After finishing the background I started coloring the mountain cliff, first I colored the leaves that are on the left side of the illustration, so I took my time and mixed the shades of green that were there, adding lights and shadows where new leaves were coming out, I also colored the roots coming out of the ground and added some extra leaves to give more detail. Then I colored the part of the earth and the rocks that are on the right side, as details, finally I colored the flowers that are in that part of the drawing and added more extra details.

Para finalizar coloreé al tigre y a la niña, primero empecé por colorear las alas de la niña, esta es mi primera vez coloreando alas, así que aquí fui bastante cautelosos porque no quería estropear un dibujo tan bonito. Después de tomarme mi tiempo coloreando las alas procedí a colorear al tigre, colorear a Kralus fue muy lindo para mí, el tigre blanco es mi tigre favorito, así que me sirvió mucho como práctica y aparte de que también aprendí a dibujar un tigre jajaja, las manchas que tiene son muy únicas y le dan mucha originalidad al dibujo, me gustó mucho agregarle detalles y en el pelaje también le agregué pelos sueltos por ahí.

Para finalizar con la ilustración coloreé a la niña, esta fue la parte más as sencilla de toda la ilustración, primero porque es una parte pequeña y no tenía muchos detalles y segundo porque estoy tan acostumbrado a dibujar personas que ya es algo fácil de hacer para mí, por lo cual fue rápido el coloreado.

• To finish I colored the tiger and the girl, first I started by coloring the girl's wings, this is my first time coloring wings, so here I was quite cautious because I didn't want to spoil such a nice drawing. After taking my time coloring the wings I proceeded to color the tiger, coloring Kralus was very nice for me, the white tiger is my favorite tiger, so it was very useful as practice and besides I also learned how to draw a tiger hahaha, the spots he has are very unique and give a lot of originality to the drawing, I really liked adding details and in the fur I also added loose hairs around.

• To finish with the illustration I colored the girl, this was the easiest part of the whole illustration, first because it's a small part and didn't have many details and second because I'm so used to draw people that it's already something easy to do for me, so it was quick to color.
