El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi participación para el concurso de arte semanal de @splinterlands . Para el dibujo de esta semana he decidido hacer al personaje TRUSK THE WILD.

Este dibujo es algo diferente, normalmente no suelo hacer personajes grandes, con edad adulta y ese tipo de cosas. Mi estilo es más enfocado hacia los niños y personajes que se vean infantiles, pero hoy quise variar un poco y decidí arriesgarme a hacer un tipo de personaje nuevo para mí.

Espero que disfruten el proceso y que se diviertan tanto como yo lo hice. ¡Vamos allá!

• 🌿 Hello dear friends! Greetings to all of you, I hope you are having a pleasant day. Welcome to a new installment.

• Today I want to share with you my participation for the Splinterlands weekly art contest. For this week's drawing I decided to do the character TRUSK THE WILD.

• This drawing is something different, I don't usually do big characters, with adult age and that kind of things. My style is more focused towards children and characters that look childish, but today I wanted to vary a little bit and decided to take a risk and do a new type of character for me.

Para hacer el boceto decidí hacer una pose muy llamativa, originalmente el personaje tiene un arma muy parecida a un hacha, así que decidí recrearlo en forma de talador de árboles. En este caso le agregué un par de troncos cortados en cada uno de los brazos, también le coloqué su típica vestimenta, un poco vikinga y para añadir algo extra decidí agregarle un pequeño osito.

No sé por qué, pero me lo imaginé con un pequeño oso como mascota jaja. Una vez que hice el boceto procedí a aplicar el estudio de color. Para ello decidí utilizar colores un poco complementarios y que combinan muy bien entre sí. Para el fondo usé colores azules y verdes, variando entre sus tonalidades y saturaciones. Para el personaje utilicé sus colores originales, pero para la ropa decidí agregarle un tono morado que es el complementario del verde. Y así quitar un poco la carga de tonos marrones en el personaje. Para el osito fui a lo seguro y le apliqué tonos marrones jaja.

• To make the sketch I decided to make a very striking pose, originally the character has a weapon very similar to an axe, so I decided to recreate it in the form of a tree chopper. In this case I added a couple of cut logs in each of the arms, I also placed his typical clothing, a bit viking and to add something extra I decided to add a small teddy bear.

• I don't know why, but I imagined him with a little bear as a pet haha. Once I made the sketch I proceeded to apply the color study. For this I decided to use colors that are a bit complementary and that combine very well with each other. For the background I used blue and green colors, varying between their shades and saturations. For the character I used his original colors, but for the clothes I decided to add a purple tone that is the complementary of the green. This way I removed a little of the load of brown tones in the character. For the little bear I played it safe and applied brown tones haha.

Una vez que tenía los colores base listos empecé a colorear. Primero detalle bien la figura del personaje y la del osito. Luego le agregué sombras muy oscuras en algunas partes específicas, una vez que tenía lista esa parte ahora sí empecé a colorear. Normalmente, suelo empezar por el fondo, pero esta vez decidí empezar por el personaje, lo hice de esta manera porque no sabía cómo iba a colorear dicho fondo. Así que primero empecé a colorear el rostro, honestamente esta fue la zona en la que me tardé más, normalmente suelo colorear rápido un rostro porque sé cómo hacerlo, pero esta es la primera vez que hago un rostro así y se me complicó un poco, lo mismo con la barba, creo que también es la primera vez que hago una jaja, así que no me vayan a juzgar si está parte quedó algo rara. Luego de al fin terminar la parte del rostro, procedí a colorear el torso del personaje y su chaleco morado. Esta parte fue sencilla porque no tenía muchos detalles, solo uni bien los colores y listo.

Para el siguiente paso coloreé el brazo derecho del personaje, aquí también me tomé mi tiempo, ya que quise agregarle algunos detalles, como el bello púbico que tiene en la axila 🤣 para darle más masculinidad. También coloreé el tronco que sujeta con ese brazo y quedé muy feliz con el coloreado. Luego pasé a colorear el pantalón y las botas. Primero coloreé el cinturón, luego el pantalón y por último las botas, fue divertido colorear el pelaje que tiene las botas, es algo que quería probar desde hace tiempo.

Una vez terminada esa parte llegó la hora de color que el otro brazo, pero primero aproveché de terminar la otra parte de cabello que me faltaba y de colorear la hombrera o capa de pelo que tiene en sus hombros (honestamente, no sé cómo se llama eso). Luego terminé de colorear el brazo y el tronco que está agarrando. Ya para finalizar con los personajes, coloreé el hacha que tiene en la espalda, también le agregué el patrón que tiene en el dibujo original y por último coloreé al pequeño oso, honestamente quedó muy tierno.

• Once I had the base colors ready I started coloring. First I detailed the figure of the character and the teddy bear. Then I added very dark shadows in some specific parts, once I had that part ready now I started coloring. Normally, I usually start with the background, but this time I decided to start with the character, I did it this way because I didn't know how I was going to color the background. So first I started coloring the face, honestly this was the area that took me the longest, normally I usually color a face fast because I know how to do it, but this is the first time I do a face like this and it was a little complicated, the same with the beard, I think it's also the first time I do one haha, so don't judge me if this part was a little weird. After finally finishing the face part, I proceeded to color the torso of the character and his purple vest. This part was simple because it didn't have many details, I just put the colors together and that was it.

• For the next step I colored the right arm of the character, here I also took my time, because I wanted to add some details, like the pubic hair that he has in the armpit 🤣 to give him more masculinity. I also colored the trunk he holds with that arm and was very happy with the coloring. I then moved on to coloring the pants and boots. First I colored the belt, then the pants and finally the boots, it was fun to color the fur on the boots, it's something I wanted to try for a long time.

• Once I finished that part it was time to color the other arm, but first I took the opportunity to finish the other part of hair I was missing and to color the shoulder pad or layer of hair he has on his shoulders (honestly, I don't know what that's called). Then I finished coloring the arm and the trunk he is holding. To finish with the characters, I colored the axe he has on his back, I also added the pattern he has in the original drawing and finally I colored the little bear, honestly it was very cute.

Para finalizar el dibujo empecé a colorear el fondo. Ya que los personajes habían quedado tan bien, decidí hacerles un fondo no tan detallado. Primero empecé por el césped, agregándole algunas manchas de varios tonos de verde, luego fui agregando algunas hojas y un poco de pasto también en los diferentes tonos de verde que había por ahí. Luego le agregué algunas hojas a los arbustos del fondo para que no se vean tan simples. Por último le agregué unas cuántas margaritas para darle mi toque personal y también le agregué algunas hojas cayendo, creo que así le daba más vida al dibujo.

• To finish the drawing I started coloring the background. Since the characters had turned out so well, I decided to make them a background that was not so detailed. First I started with the grass, adding some spots of various shades of green, then I added some leaves and some grass also in the different shades of green that were around. Then I added some leaves to the bushes in the background so they wouldn't look so plain. Finally I added a few daisies to give it my personal touch and I also added some falling leaves, I think it gave more life to the drawing.

Hoy estuve probando unos pinceles completamente diferentes a los que suelo usar y también probé una nueva técnica a la hora de colorear y de hacer personajes. Espero que no se note mucho la diferencia con los dibujos que suelo hacer normalmente.
