Hello hivers, I am happy that for the first time I entered the top 3 of last week's contest, as I see that I really liked that pixel art illustration, today I bring another one with animation that I am practicing a bit so let's see how it turns out, the art I will be inspired by the card called KULU MASTERMIND, a legendary one of the last to come out, keep watching

Well, since what I want to do is a portrait, I start with the face, I chose a light turquoise color that I like better than the gray of the original letter, I am adding details such as wrinkles and expressions, I will also use several purple gradients, for the shadows and for the other faces of the tentacles, in the upper part of the head I added some small horns since it looked very empty

In this step I was undecided whether to put the tunic that he is wearing in the original image, since I wanted more tentacles in sight and around him, as I am a big fan of Lovecraftian monsters I wanted to give him that touch, so I decided to do it without a tunic and that more tentacles would come out of his chest

Here I placed the entire background in black to add more tentacles at the top and bottom to give the feeling that you are surrounded by them, I was almost there, just one more step is missing

And for the last step it occurred to me to make an animation when I had added the lighting and the last details, so I had to animate a few more tentacles separately to superimpose later, so you can notice that they do not have the same level of detail since It would take much longer to animate if I put all the details in the same way, so it made me very complicated in the end since I am still a newbie in animation, well, in the end I have a satisfactory result
