Time for the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge.

For this week's battle challenge, I am gonna go with the assigned monster PIRATE CAPTAIN. PIRATE CAPTAIN is a common earth splinter monster that comes in Alpha and Beta editions. Like all common monsters, PIRATE CAPTAIN stats are not that impressive at lower levels, but from lev 06 it gets amazing Inspire ability. Costing just 4 mana, PIRATE CAPTAIN's snipe along with Inspire come pretty handy in tight situation.

The Pirates of ΛZMΛRÉ are not to be trusted. Their Captains are among the most cunning (and dangerous) creatures in the Splinterlands. Armed with muskets of secret ΛZMΛRÉan make and prepared for any situation, the Pirate Captains sail the seas looking for treasure.

I own lev-6 beta PIRATE CAPTAIN, which offers Inspire ability.

`Cost Analysis`

Currently there are 6,662 normal foil Alpha and 488 gold foil PIRATE CAPTAINs in circulation, costing minimum $3.68/BCX and $345/BCX respectively. Moreover, there are 17,516 normal foil Beta and 1,067 gold foil PIRATE CAPTAINs in circulation, costing minimum $1.78/BCX and $52/BCX respectively.

The prices skyrocketed just like all other monsters when the bloom came. Normal foils Vampire's price is still on the rise whereas gold foil's price has settled down a bit.

`Favored Battle Rules`

PIRATE CAPTAIN works well in all normal battle rules, especially in Little League ruleset.

`Placement`

PIRATE CAPTAIN like all ranged monsters is best suited in the middle back ranks well protected from frontal, opportunity and sneak attacks.

`Complementing Abilities`

PIRATE CAPTAIN can be complemented well by summoners like ARCHMAGE ARIUS, SELENIA SKY, DRAKE OF ARNAK, NEB SENI and BYZANTINE KITTY summoners.

As far as abilities are concerned, PIRATE CAPTAIN can be decently complemented by other monsters with abilities. Abilities that complement PIRATE CAPTAIN best are Protect, Strengthen, Triage, Swiftness and Slow.

`Defense`

PIRTAE CAPTAIN can be killed easily using Return Fire or Opportunity attack. Other option is to use strong snipe or blast attack. PIRATE CAPTAIN's high speed attack can be countered by using heavy shield.

This was a 44 mana battle with one battle rule, Little League.

`MY LINEUP`

`DARIA DRAGONSCALE`

I choose to go with full fledge melee attack and since battle mana was enough, so I used DARIA DRAGONSCALE summoner.

`SPINEBACK TURTLE`

Upfront I used 4 mana water monster, SPINEBACK TURTLE. SPINEBACK TURTLE's high health and decent shield with Thorns ability makes this guy a true asset.

`ELECTRIC EELS`

On one down I placed ELECTRIC EELS. ELECTRIC EELS offers two abilities with Reach and Blast makes it a perfect one down monster.

`CORAL WRAITH`

Next I placed a magic attack monster , CORAL WRAITH. CORAL WRAITH decent sneak magic attack gives it an edge plus Rust ability lightens enemy shields.

`FEASTING SEAWEED`

Time for Opportunity attack, so I placed FEASTING SEAWEED. FEASTING SEAWEED's heavy opportunity attack can take care of week enemy monsters, plus Salvage ability is an added benefit.

`CRUSTACEAN KING`

Next comes the healer, CRUSTACEAN KING. Costing just 3 mana, CRUSTACEAN KING also offer Protect ability apart from healing.

`PIRATE CAPTAIN`

On the very last, I placed PIRATE CAPTAIN. PIRATE CAPTAIN's Protect ability gives all the friendly melee monsters an extra edge.

`BATTLE ANALYSIS`

The battle went as planned. DARIA DRAGONSCALE along with Inspire gave the whole melee attack based team some real teeth. The enemy wrongly anticipated magic attack and used OWSTER ROTWELL.

Although PIRATE CAPTAIN got killed early but not before my melee attack monsters did some nice damage. All in all, it was fun
