Card Spotlight #23: Spark Pixies

Quick and nimble, these pranksters survive the battle by allowing no hits from others. They hit and run as they provide terror to the board while escaping all shots with their flimsy bodies. They are truly the escape artists of Splinterlands.

The card we will be discussing today is Spark Pixies.

In the Burning Lands, the force of electricity is barely understood; it is considered a form of fire. These small but powerful living sparks bring fire through the natural electricity they carry. They are extremely fast, and as a group, they can burn a village in mere minutes.

We would rate this card based on:

• Cost to buy/rent this card. How affordable and accessible is the card.
• Card Stats. How balanced the card is based on its role.
• Card Effect. How useful is its effect based on the role of the card.
• Strengths and Weaknesses. If the card can counter other cards and/or be countered easily by others or not.
• Positioning. Adaptability of where the card can be placed.
• Compatibility. How useful it is on its current element.

  Spark Pixie's rentals are really low due to the fact that she's not used most of the time. Fire element are known for melee damage and Tarsa, the currently best summoner for fire elements, does not provide bonus for range type attacks. It's better to choose melee types when you use Fire elements to abuse Tarsa, and thus, Spark Pixies are mostly skipped during preparation phase for the battle.

Below is the buy cost of the card at the time of this writing.

Spark Pixie's price is currently high for a decent stat monster. The reason for this is because the packs where you can get her is phased out and you can only get those packs from other players. In other words, the stock for Spark Pixies are very limited and thus, resulting to her higher price.

Card Stats ||

Mana: 4 || Damage: 2 || Speed: 5 || Armor: 0 || Health: 1
Spark Pixie's stats is decent. She may have low health but have amazing speed to dodge those attacks. Her 2 damage also puts the opponent in place especially if you consider that due to her high speed, Spark Pixies almost always attack first. ════════════════════════════════

Card Effect ||

Flying || Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability. Flying has two effects. First, increased chance to avoid the opponent's hit if they don't have Flying ability and second, Flying ability avoids Earthquake Rule Set damage. Use these two conditions to your advantage and Flying would be one of the most powerful effect in whole Splinterlands.

Dodge || Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.
With Dodge, Flying and 6 speed, Spark Pixies is one of the fastest monster in Splinterlands with the highest chance to evade damage. This is a good combination as long as the opponent is not using magic damage in which they cannot miss regardless of speed.

Stun || When a Monster with Stun hits a target, it has 50% chance to stun the target causing it to skip its next turn.
Stun is a very powerful ability. This allows your opponent to skip an attack once the stun applies. The only problem is even though it's 50% chance to apply, it's only a chance. There's always 50% chance for the stun effect to not apply to targets. This is in addition to the fact that regardless of your monster's speed, they always have a chance to miss. This makes Stun really hard to hit as not only they need to hit the opponent but those "chance to hit" only have "chance to stun" as well.

Strengths Weaknesses ||

|| Spark Pixie's strength lies on her ability to dodge attacks. The combination of 6 speed and Flying ability allows her to dodge most attacks especially the low speed ones. In addition to that, her immense speed allows her to attack first most of the time. This allows her to have an advantage to kill the opponent first before they attack as long as she's not in the first position.

|| Spark Pixie's weakness is very apparent. Her low health of 1 allows her to be killed in almost any attacks. More weakness comes through if she is against mages as magic damage does not miss regardless of the opponent's speed or ability to fly. Any mage attacking Spark Pixies would most likely kill her in one shot. ════════════════════════════════

Positioning ||

POSITIONING:

The best position for this card is in the middle of the pack. Even though she has high speed for defense, she still has 1 health and could die from almost any attack that hit her. Sandwiching her in between monsters is best to provide safety for Spark Pixies.

ROUND 1:

By end of Round 1, Serpentine Spy dies. Ice Pixie also dies during this round from the hits from both parties.

ROUND 2:

By end of Round 2, Cruel Sethropod dies leaving Water Nymph to tank the round.

ROUND 3:

By end of Round 3, Water Nymph dies from battle. Diemonshark now goes to front line.

ROUND 4:

By end of Round 4, both damage was inflicted to both parties but no fatal casualties are made on both parties.

ROUND 5:

By end of Round 5, there are still no casualties. However, both Diemonshark and Deeplurker goes to critical health. Living Lava also goes critical on 3 health.

ROUND 6:

By end of Round 6, Living Lava dies along with Diemonshark and Deeplurker which lead me to victory.

Compatibility ||

The best combo with this card for me is with summoners that increases range damage. This includes summoners like Selena Sky and Yodin Zaku. This allows you to amplify Spark Pixies's damage and abuse her ability to strike first in battle. ════════════════════════════════

Final Thoughts

With all the evidences that we gathered, we could say that Spark Pixies are strong warriors putting their bodies in danger. Due to their low health, they must be protected in order to abuse their amazing potential as they roam the battlefield and possibily kill the opponents before they even act. Abusing the speed of Spark Pixies allow the increase in firepower of any team.
