Hello, hello mi hermosa colmena y #Splinterlands fans. Espero que estén teniendo una hermosa noche. Es que me encanta la noche así que sí, la estoy pasando genial, en otra vida fui una chica vampiro. 😋

Antes de hablar sobre mi publicación, quería compartirles un problema que he estado enfrentando. Mi disco duro está a punto de explotar (literalmente). Tengo dos discos duros, uno normal y otro sólido "SSD". El problema es que siempre grabo la pantalla cuando realizo mis ilustraciones y además, tengo muchos archivos PSD, lo que hace que ambos discos estén llenos. Tengo que editar los vídeos para ahorrar espacio, pero siempre lo pospongo. Ahora no puedo posponerlo más. 😱

He estado trabajando en una comisión que mencioné en publicaciones anteriores, pero me detuve por un momento para crear mi participación para mi concurso favorito. Hoy no les traigo nada relacionado con monstruos o criaturas. Por el contrario, elegí una carta que había estado viendo durante semanas, pero por alguna razón, siempre la posponía. Bueno, esta semana fue la elegida.

Before I talk about my post, I wanted to share a problem I've been facing. My hard drive is about to explode (literally). I have two hard drives, a normal one and a solid "SSD" one. The problem is that I always record my screen when I create my illustrations and I also have many PSD files, which fills up both hard drives. I need to edit the videos to save space, but I always put it off. Now I can't put it off any longer. 😱

I've been working on a commission I mentioned in previous posts, but I stopped for a moment to create my entry for my favorite contest. Today, I'm not bringing you anything related to monsters or creatures. On the contrary, I chose a card that I've been looking at for weeks, but for some reason, I always put it off. Well, this week was the chosen one.

Me siento muy emocionada de presentar mi ilustración, la cual está inspirada en el personaje -=Lux Vega=-. A mi parecer este personaje tiene una gran similitud con uno de mis personajes favoritos de X-Men, Gambito. Si eres un fanático de los cómics, estoy segura de que sabes de quién estoy hablando. Volviendo a mi ilustración, disfruté muchísimo creando esta pieza.

I am very excited to present my illustration, which is inspired by the character -=Lux Vega=-. In my opinion this character has a great similarity with one of my favorite X-Men characters, Gambit. If you are a comic fan, I'm sure you know who I'm talking about... Back to my illustration, I thoroughly enjoyed creating this piece.

I present to you the card I chose for my participation this week. Don't you think it has a great resemblance to Gambit? Since I saw it, I had in mind the way I wanted to do the illustration. However, at the last moment, when I was finally able to do it, I was forced to change my mind and choose another option, which is the one you see in this post.

It is possible that in the future, when I have more time, maybe I will try to make the idea I had in mind.

In any case, I hope you enjoy my participation and that you can see the potential of this interesting card.

Les presento la carta que escogí para mi participación de esta semana. ¿No creen que tiene un gran parecido con Gambito? Desde que la vi, tuve en mente la forma en que quería realizar la ilustración. Sin embargo, a último momento, cuando por fin pude hacerla me vi obligada a cambiar de idea y elegir otra opción que es la que ven en este post.

Es posible que en el futuro, cuando tenga más tiempo, quizas intente realizar la idea que tenía en mente.

En cualquier caso, espero que disfruten de mi participación y que puedan ver el potencial de esta carta tan interesante.

This time, I wanted to try a different position and a closer angle to the character. First, I drew the basic lines of the body simply (albeit a bit dirtyyyyyyy), and then I started adding Lux's costume. I could have polished those lines a bit more, but why bother if I'm not going to do anything with them in the end? Instead, I focused on a card throwing effect, as if the character was Gambit himself. let's blow up cards! 😜

I was looking for an effect like I was throwing the cards, this is my first time, I've never thrown anything at anyone but hey, it's ok. 🥳😎

¡Vaya! ¿He hecho otro boceto? ¡Esto se está convirtiendo en un hábito!!! 🤔🤣🤣🤣

En esta ocasión, quise probar una posición diferente y un ángulo más cercano al personaje. Primero, dibujé las líneas básicas del cuerpo de manera simple (aunque un poco dirtyyyyy), y después empecé a añadir el traje de Lux. Podría haber pulido esas líneas un poco más, pero para qué molestarse si al final no voy a hacer nada con ellas? En cambio, me enfoqué en un efecto de lanzamiento de cartas, como si el personaje fuera el mismísimo Gambito. ¡A volar cartas! 😜

Buscaba un efecto como si estuviera lanzando las cartas, esta es mi primera vez, nunca le he lanzado nada a nadie pero bueno, esta bien. 🥳😎

As I started painting the base and details, the lines were there, but very opaque. I usually try to do everything in one layer (because I don't get along with too many layers, fuck!!! I just get messed up), but when I need to add details or effects, I do them in separate layers. As also in the case of making some change or finishing the hair, I copy what I need and remove it with a layer mask and when I'm happy with the result Booomm, I combine them in a single layer. less layers, more happiness! 🥳🥳🥳

Al comenzar a pintar la base y los detalles, las líneas estaban allí, pero muy opacas. Por lo general, intento hacer todo en una sola capa (porque no me llevo bien con demasiadas capas, joder!!! es que me lio), pero cuando necesito agregar detalles o efectos, los hago en capas separadas. Como también en el caso de hacer algún cambio o terminar el cabello, copio lo que necesito y lo elimino con una mascara de capa y cuando estoy contenta con el resultado Booomm, las combino en una sola capa. ¡Menos capas, más felicidad! 🥳🥳🥳

I combined all the layers, even the one with the lines, a bit more advanced than in the previous step. Things were more defined, but there was something I didn't like with the cards. I copied them and repositioned them, so they were on another layer, since they were attached to the body at first. Having them like that, I was able to draw the hidden part of the legs and the skirt, since if I felt like changing the cards in position, as has happened a couple of times, 👉🏻👈🏻😁 I wouldn't have to repaint every time I adjusted something. So, that's fine. 🤲🏻

He combinado todas las capas, incluso la de las líneas, un poco más avanzado que en el paso anterior. Las cosas estaban más definidas, pero hubo algo que no me gustó con las cartas. Las copié y las cambié de posición, por lo que quedaron en otra capa, ya que al principio estaban pegadas al cuerpo. Teniéndolas así, pude dibujar la parte oculta de las piernas y la falda, ya que si me apetecía cambiar las cartas de posición, como ha sucedido un par de veces, 👉🏻👈🏻😁 no tendría que volver a pintar cada vez que ajustara algo. Por lo tanto, eso está bien. 🤲🏻

I'm moving forward with the rendering on the whole body and also started to add some light. here you can see what I was talking about in the previous step, the whole body. And the cards? Someone stole them! Hahaha, but don't worry, I kept them. When I saw the complete persoanje on the page, I saw that it had something on the face but I don't know what it was. I thought it had downloaded wrong, but later I wrote to my hero 911 @jordangerder and he told me what it was. He also pointed out to me that I could see it on the cards where the character is not complete. Danke my dear friend! 🤗😘😘😘

(By the way, fun fact: it's been several years since I started drawing digitally. I remember in the beginning I downloaded many brush packs and was looking for one for everything: hair, skin, eyelashes, eyes and so on. Now it makes me laugh because in the end all those brushes just take up space in Photoshop. For this particular drawing, I only used 5 brushes, which is an exaggeration haha. I usually use a couple of brushes and nothing too weird. On some occasions, I use some special effect, but if the illustration doesn't require it, I stick with just the pair. Less brushes, happier 😁🤣).

Estoy avanzando con el renderizado en todo el cuerpo y además comencé a añadir un poco de luz. aquí pueden ver lo que decía en el paso anterior, el cuerpo completo. ¿Y las cartas? ¡Alguien las robó! Jajaja, pero no te preocupes, las guardé. Me pasó que cuando vi el personaje completo en la página, vi que tenía algo en la cara pero no sé qué era. Pensé que se había descargado mal, pero más tarde le escribí a mi héroe 911 @jordangerder y me dijo qué era. También me señaló que podía verlo en las cartas donde el personaje no está completo. Danke mi querido amigo!!! 🤗😘😘😘

(Por cierto, un dato curioso: han pasado varios años desde que empecé a dibujar digitalmente. Recuerdo que en los inicios descargué muchos paquetes de pinceles y estaba buscando uno para cada cosa: cabello, piel, pestañas, ojos y demás. Ahora me da risa porque al final todos esos pinceles solo ocupan espacio en Ps. Para este dibujo en particular, solo usé 5 pinceles, lo cual es una exageración jajajaja. Por lo general, uso un par de pinceles y nada demasiado extraño. En algunas ocasiones, utilizo algún efecto especial, pero si la ilustración no lo requiere, me quedo solo con el par. Menos pinceles, más feliz 😁🤣).

There was something about the thing I had on my hip that made the character look flat and extremely thin compared to her size. So I tweaked it a bit and it looks different than before. I was also playing with the cards for a while. There was light and shadow, so I added some shadows to make it look more mysterious. A backlight is always good in these cases. So far so good. I like to add some little light details on armor and such. I love that glow, although I couldn't overdo it since the scene takes place at night. One artist who kills me "Literally", and who makes such detailed armors is Bo Chem. OMG, he kills me! seriously, he kills me!... I will soon try to make some armors like he does for LOL. It's great to see his drawings and process, even if the video is hours long, it's exciting. Fraking amazing!!!

Hubo algo en la cosa que tenía en la cadera que hacía que el personaje se viera plana y extremadamente delgada en comparación con su tamaño. Así que lo ajusté un poco y se ve diferente al anterior. También estuve jugando con las cartas por un rato. Había luz y sombra, así que agregué algunas sombras para que tenga un aspecto más misterioso. Una contraluz siempre es buena en estos casos. Por ahora todo está bien. Me gusta agregar algunos pequeños detalles de luz en las armaduras y cosas así. Ese brillo me encanta, aunque no podía exagerar ya que la escena tiene lugar de noche. Un artista que me mata "Literal", y que hace unas armaduras con tantos detalles es Bo Chem. ¡OMG, me mata! en serio, me mata!... Pronto intentaré hacer algunas armaduras como él realiza para LOL. Es genial ver sus dibujos y proceso, aunque el vídeo dure horas, es emocionante. Fraking amazing!!!

Yayyy!!! She got the cards back, this time with some changes. I added some lights and was playing around for a while trying to make the effect that the cards are moving. Oh one thing that is different is the colors and I added some textures to the clothes. I made some changes to the colors because before everything looked monochromatic. Now it looks more decent to me.

PS: I noticed that I didn't make many drastic changes to this character... What's happening to me? 🤔🤣🤣🤣

But for next week, I'll bring you something fraking amazing! 😋😋😋

¡Yayyy! Ella recuperó las cartas, esta vez con algunos cambios. Agregué algunas luces y estuve jugando un rato tratando de hacer el efecto de que las cartas se están moviendo. Oh algo que si esta distinto son los colores y agregué algunas texturas a la ropa. Hice algunos cambios en los colores porque antes todo parecía monocromático. Ahora me parece más decente.

PD: Me di cuenta de que no hice muchos cambios drásticos en este personaje... ¿Qué me está pasando? 🤔🤣🤣🤣

Pero para la siguiente semana, ¡os traigo algo fraking amazing! 😋😋😋

Para los últimos retoques a mi ilustración, agregué efectos de luz y el detalle de las cartas volando. También realicé los "tatuajes" en su cara, que se iluminan cuando activa su poder. Luego de dar los últimos retoques y renderizar la imagen, finalmente estaba terminada.

Espero que les haya gustado mi trabajo. Y ahora, como es costumbre a esta hora, es momento de irse a dormir y descansar. 😴💤💤💤

For the final touches to my illustration, I added light effects and the detail of the flying cards. I also made the "tattoos" on his face, which light up when he activates his power. After giving the final touches and rendering the image, it was finally finished.
