Centaur - Splinterlands Art Contest 270

Saludos amigos de Hive y Alíen Art Hive!

Feliz sábado, el día de hoy presento una vez más mi entrada en el concurso de Splinterlands correspondiente a la semana 270, para esta oportunidad he elegido una carta llamada Centauro tenía muchas ganas de hacer este tipo de criatura mitad caballo mitad humano, aunque estaba un poco insegura no sabia si podria ejecutarlo de manera satifactoria, es un personaje que siempre he tenido presente debido a la mitología griega, al final fue una gran experiencia, les mostrare un poco de lo que ha sido el proceso de ilustración espero me acompañen.

Happy Saturday, today I present once again my entry in the Splinterlands contest corresponding to week 270, for this opportunity I have chosen a card called Centaur I really wanted to make this kind of creature half horse half human, although I was a little unsure I didn't know if I could execute it in a satisfactory way, it is a character that I have always had in mind because of the Greek mythology, in the end it was a great experience, I will show you a little of what has been the illustration process, I hope you join me.

Como siempre el primer paso fue hacer los bocetos correspondientes para esta criatura, como los centauros suelen ser en su mayoría arqueros, comencé buscando referencias para dibujar de hombres arqueros y dibujé la parte superior humana, luego tomando como referencia también la parte baja de en caballo dibujé el resto del cuerpo y las patas inferiores.

A continuación se muestra el boceto y el dibujo lineal que use para resultante.

As always the first step was to make the corresponding sketches for this creature, as centaurs are mostly archers, I started looking for references to draw archer men and I drew the upper human part, then taking as reference also the lower part of the horse I drew the rest of the body and the lower legs.

Below is the sketch and the resulting line drawing I used.

Luego coloque los colores bases para mi dibujo use un tono de piel clara y la parte inferior con un pelaje en color marrón y cabello negro, en realidad use más o menos las mismas tonalidades de la carta.
Una vez colocado los colores comencé a colocar el resto de tonos en su piel comenzando por la tonalidades más oscuras y comencé detallar los rasgos de su rostro.

Then I placed the base colors for my drawing I used a light skin tone and the lower part with a brown fur and black hair, actually I used more or less the same shades of the chart.
Once I placed the colors I began to place the rest of the tones in her skin starting with the darkest shades and began to detail the features of his face.

Para el rostro tenía alguna referencia sobre lo que quería para este personaje con unos rasgos finos y alargados pero de apariencia varonil, termino gustándome bastante, como adicional agregue un maquillaje de guerrero en una de sus mejillas, luego comencé a definir la musculatura este paso a veces se me complica por la cantidad de músculos que entran en juego con ciertas posturas y esta era una de ellas, pero resultó mucho mejor de lo que esperaba y no sufrí demasiado 😅

For the face I had some reference about what I wanted for this character with thin and elongated features but with a manly appearance, I ended up liking it quite a lot, as an additional I added a warrior makeup on one of his cheeks, then I started to define the musculature this step is sometimes complicated for me because of the amount of muscles that come into play with certain postures and this was one of them, but it turned out much better than I expected and I didn't suffer too much 😅.

Luego procedí a definir también los músculos de la parte inferior correspondiente al cuerpo del equino, para este tome referencias de algunas fotografías, luego comencé a definir el resto de detalles del centauro, como su cabello el arco y la flecha.

Y aunque termine eliminando algunos de los elementos originales de este personaje, la verdad no quería restar importancia a algunas partas que en mi opinión me habían quedado bastante bien y me termino agradando más de este modo.

Then I proceeded to define also the muscles of the lower part corresponding to the equine's body, for this I took references from some photographs, then I began to define the rest of the details of the centaur, such as his hair, bow and arrow.

And although I ended up eliminating some of the original elements of this character, the truth is that I didn't want to downplay some parts that in my opinion had been quite good and I ended up liking it more this way.

A continuación fue hora de definir el fondo del personaje, me decidí por algo sencillo y eso fue ubicarlo en un entorno natural, como una pradera con algunos árboles y vegetación, así comencé dibujando un árbol a su espalda y luego el cielo azul y el pasto corto a sus pies.

Next it was time to define the background of the character, I decided for something simple and that was to place him in a natural environment, like a meadow with some trees and vegetation, so I started drawing a tree at his back and then the blue sky and the short grass at his feet.

Y este ha sido el resultado final de este nuevo proyecto, me gusto mucho el resultado y aunque esta semana hubiera cortes eléctricos todos los días estoy muy feliz de haberlo terminado a tiempo para el concurso de esta semana, es todo que mostrar por el día de hoy, espero que haya sido de su agrado.

And this has been the final result of this new project, I really liked the result and even though this week there were electrical cuts every day I'm very happy to have finished it in time for this week's contest, that's all to show for today, I hope you liked it.
