AI and the Path to Transcendence

There’s a myth in norse mythology about Odin drinking an elixir of sorts made out of the blood (I think) of the person that came from the pact between two teams of gods or something like that, anyways, this could help anyone who drank it enough be able to rhyme perfectly (or something along those lines, it’s been a while since I read Neil Gaiman) and today I was thinking that our current models of AI are really similar to this elixir, being able to write whatever it wants in the matter of minutes or less and us being able to use it virtually everywhere thanks to it being able to be used on our phones.
Now I know this is a big debate but if we continue on this path of progress and we keep on accelerating at this speed at what point would we be able to consider ourselves to be “gods” ?

Well the human spirit is divine in nature. By letting it free itself it appears to get as close to what it calls godhood as it possibly can. Eventually there won't be any difference between what we call God today and what man, or rather his emanation of the future will be like. This can also be seen in history where European Conquerors were seen as divine by different native tribes since they used technology like gunpowder, huge ships and armor.
There is however another question here to be explored: What do we actually mean when we say "divine"? I'd say the essence is "transcendent". In this sense we'll truely become divine from our current standpoint, but we won't see ourselves that way without something lower to compare ourselves to.
