Splinterlands Daily Quests - Potions and Why You Should Invest in DEC

(Edited)

Who goes a day without completing the Daily Quests on Splinterlands? Not me. Today in the history of Splinterlands, I conceded the greatest amount of L's. For me to think the beginning of the season was going to be fairly easy compared to the ending part of the season when all the pro's are out to earn themselves some rewards was me being delusional, there are hot players round the clock, to keep winning, your 'A' game has to be on all the time.

My daily quest today was to win 5 battles with the Fire Splinter, as I had already explained in my last post how much I love the fire splinter, after today I had a rethink. Now I'm not saying the monsters are not strong, but today I won through my ass, I guess I had tougher opponents, and in the process I learnt something new. Two things actually and I'd share them both with you. The first will be about my newest favorite monster and a neutral monster. Check out this buff guy.

This monster was my MVP( in this case MVM) Most valuable monster during my quest today, the thing is I always try to avoid Monsters with high manna so I can fully spread out my cards with the little manna. This strategy failed woefully today, until I realised the Gem that the Goblin Merch was. With an ability to take out 4 lives of the opponents card and heavily armored built to take hits, I can't be happier to be in possession of such merchandise. Once I put him first for attacks, 90% chance I'm winning the battle, especially if the battle is a low manna.

There are only 34,000 in existence and I'm sure a bunch of people have burnt theirs not knowing how useful it can be, I suggest you hold on tight to yours. Mine is on a level 3 and already a hot piece of cake. Checking through the stats table, you can see how equipped it can get when combining it to max level. It actually earned me all my wins for the quest today.

INVESTING IN DEC

So for the second part of my discovery, I realized a lot of people don't know the effect of potions and today we are going to use it practically. Do you know you can increase the amount of your daily reward cards if you use a potion? Here's what I'm saying. Go to your Splinterlands dashboard, click on shop, and click on potions...

Each potion here have their use cases, for the the purpose of this post, I'm going to explain the one pertaining to quest. So yeah go ahead and click quest.

Each potion in quests also have their values, i.e what they can do for you.

  • Basic quest potion is the cheapest, priced at 500DEC. It gives you 1 additional reward card whenever you finish a quest, it has 5 charges, meaning it can be used 5 times.
  • Enhanced quest potion is priced at 1000DEC. It gives 2 additional reward cards when a quest is completed, also 5 charges.
  • Brilliant quest potion is priced at 2500DEC, it gives additional 5 reward cards when a quest is completed, with 5 charges.

Now all these potions can only be purchased using DEC, and if you don't know how to get DEC now, you must be living under a rock or sleeping in the belly of a whale.

For the purpose of learning, I'd choose the Brilliant quest potion since I already have 2500 DEc I acquired from having fun by kicking asses and burning few cards. I mean I can increase my chances of getting the most expensive gold legendary right by 5 times? Why not! So I purchase and voila, just as expected, I got 5 rewards cards instead of one, talking about a run for your money...

I shut my eyes while opening them in hopes of a big surprise...

Not really a fan of these ones, but they will sure come in handy, I have 4 more charges in my potion...meaning 20 cards to go, besides the season rewards waiting for me. I think that's an awesome addition to the game play, I bet I will make my 2500DEc back at the end of this season after reaping all my rewards. DEC makes the game so much more interesting. You can burn cards you don't want to hold for DEC, you can buy it, you can win it when you win battles, and you can use it to double your chances of increasing your investment in your Splinterland journey.

The DEC has other applications within Splinterlands which will keep following my game plays as I apply them. So stay tuned while we have fun and invest wisely.

Eventually, this is not a financial advise, please DYOR. Thanks for reading.
