walking lily

After waiting more than 5 years my flowering lily plant finally bloomed.

This simple and beautiful plant is also called a fake orchid, due to the similarity of its flowers.

As far as I could investigate, it is a plant that does not tolerate temperatures below 0 ° C, and I estimate that it is the reason why it took so long to give us its beautiful flowers. In winter we usually have temperatures below 10 ° C below zero, so I must be grateful that it is still alive.

Its flowering takes place in the spring and although its flower lasts one day, during the flowering period it gives away many flowers in that period.

The name of the walking lily is due to the fact that this plant with sword-shaped leaves grows until at the tip of one of its leaves another plant begins to grow causing the leaf to tilt to the ground, where the new plant can lay roots thus favoring its reproduction.

A beautiful plant seems to have in your garden, which does not require much care.
