How to Make a Poem
Sometimes the hardest part of writing is not the words themselves but the thinking that comes before them. When I sit down to plan new content for my Hive Blog, ideas drift in slowly, collide, disappear, and return again. This is a weird poem about thinking how to make poems. It worked out great though!
How to Make a Poem
I sit and stare at a blank white screen,
Where thoughts should go, but none are seen.
My mind runs loops then circles back,
Looking for ideas I seem to lack.
Small sparks appear, then quickly fade,
Half-formed lines I almost made.
I chase them down, I let them roam,
Hoping one decides to stay at home.
Content hides in moments small,
Some days are slow, a rise and fall.
A meal, a walk, some sleepless night,
All could turn to words if framed just right.
I think of stories left untold,
Lessons learned, both new and old.
I want some now, I bode my time,
Not perfect posts, just honest rhyme.
The pressure lifts when I slow down,
No need to force, no need for crown.
Ideas grow when left to breathe,
Maybe I really just need some heat?
At last one thought feels clear and true,
A simple post I’ll follow through.
