I Want to be Thankful For...

I feel like a little kid this Thanksgiving morning when I tried to play this game seriously. I know the cards aren’t worth much lately and even some gold Foundation cards are barely worth a few cents. However, there’s still something special about receiving a reward, no matter how small. Just like being grateful for the tiniest things on the table, these simple drops still make me smile.
For someone who’s a child at heart, these little gifts are enough to keep me playing and grinding. This Thanksgiving, I’m choosing to enjoy the small blessings, showing my gratitude and show the pieces of cards I earned in Frontier Mode this past week. I want to show a little bit of the progress I made and the fun I got out of each rewards. For now, I’ll just be thankful and keep climbing toward the top instead of dwelling on the negatives, which I would also include in this article.

Journey to Gold
I am very thankful for this week for the rewards I got in Frontier Mode. I just got loads of goodies that shines and glitters.
I was finally reached Gold in Frontier Mode after some hard earned games.
And a few more hours later, I finally reached Gold 1 sitting on 2500 to 2600 rating.
I'm actually on the leaderboards which is another thing to be thankful for. I was a bit higher before, around top 8, but I fell down because the game was being mean to me.
Like I had, kid you not, 11 consecutive games where I did not have any Water Element allowed or if I am allowed to use them, some modifier will be directly against my build like Counterspell. Water is my highest win-rate team and that really tanked by rating down.

The Gold Rank is Different

Once you get to gold, your daily rewards become a pack instead of just random number of cards. It's still not expensive, just a few hundred of DEC, around a few cents but the opening animation looks good and makes you excited.
Each pack consists of 5 cards so you have more chance to get what you want. You can also sell it in the market but like I said, the price isn't really that expensive.

Check Out These Rewards
We'll now go see the exciting parts, seeing the rewards. I was really happy at these. The rewards I will show you aren't the only ones I received this week but these are the ones that are most exciting for me.
I got my second Asel Alagosdil which was really good. I now only needed 2 more to level her up. The Divine Shield on this monster, extra armor and decent health for a Foundation card is really good when you top it off the 4 mana cost. Lower mana cost for a tank means you now have more mana that you can use for stronger monsters.
Foundation monsters don't have a lot of damage except for Water Element monsters so having more mana for these monsters will be better for your team.
I also got the Life Archon, Incessant Sage. Any archon will be a good pull because you need a higher leveled archon to use the higher leveled monsters as well.
We'll now come to the best part, some legendaries. Mystic Scaleweaver is probably the best card you can get in Foundation packs. It has high mana cost but the damage and high health is worth the demerits. You can also use her as one of your main monsters when playing Modern Ranked Format and she wouldn't hold you back.
Last on my list is this one which have A'Lan Musketeer. Honestly, this one is not as good since the damage is not high on low levels. It's also a range damage instead of magic damage so when he goes to the front, he'll be useless. Not to mention that his attacks will not go through armor.
On the other hand, I got an interesting monster, Moros Malik. While he has only 1 range attack, he has Opportunity ability which is compatible with another useful monster, Vengeful Monk. These two monsters can be used together to break the back line of the enemy team which is something I've done multiple times when Water element is not available for the battle.

Once again, I just want to be thankful for these exciting rewards I got this week which made my games more fun and exciting. I also want to take this chance to thank the devs for creating this wonderful game and home this game gets more attention and last 10 years more. I want to see how the game shapes up more in the future and what creative things the developers can cook up for Splinterlands.
