Watching great players

If you want to make the most out of your Splinterlands collection, you have to play it yourself and win! That's what's going to make the most bang for your buck. But if you want to win, you have to study the game, otherwise you'll do nothing but waste your time, all while not earning as much as you could.

That's what we're doing in Bronze TOP BATTLES Studies: we analyze three battles from the highest MMR players, learn their strategies and try improving upon them. That's how we're going to become great players that make more money. We begin after our giveaways!

Yet another example of Bortus paired with Djinn Oshannus wrecking Alric Stormbringer, but this time it's even more impressive, since Bortus is only level 1. They were up against level 2 Creeping Ooze, Ice Pixie and even Dwarven Wizard along with that Ruler of the Seas.

High level meta is just different. You don't play as if you were matched against bots. Look at your opponent's MMR and past battles... If it's really high and it hasn't used bot teams, then you can't use what's good enough to beat regular low-value teams.

Void Dragon as a frontliner is very peculiar, but its very high speed and flying ability guarantee it's not a weak tank. Most people would skip over Void Dragon because, even if it can dodge, it's not that tanky and it doesn't deal damage.

@patternroot fixed Void Dragon by using Promo summoner Delwyn Dragonscale, which grants +1 magic to all their team. Since @ueyuey's selection was particularly fragile, a couple of magic attacks were enough to pummel everything into submission.

Armor and shield are great if you were expecting sustain, sneak attacks or oportunities, which is what @ueyuey used. He was caught off-guard here is because Water Splinter was disabled for this match - so who'd ever use magic?

Yet another brilliant Dragon Splinter play by @patternroot. Who'd ever expect Black Dragon as competition to a Llama sustain strategy? Black Dragon might not heal itself, but it's surely getting too large to be defeated once Flesh Golem can finally hit it.

This strategy was possible thanks to the Holy Protection rule for this match, which allowed Fiend and Furious Chicken to stall long enough. If Flesh Golem made contact with Black Dragon two rounds earlier, it wouldn't yet have high enough health to sustain itself.

Thanks for sharing these great battles! I just joined the game 3 weeks ago and still have lots to learn. This battles are way more difficult than what I’m used to.

I haven't played in a long time. I actually stopped when my CP was under 15K and began renting my entire collection. My collection is now worth almost 70K CP and I'm considering starting again. From renting my collection, I'm earning on average 400 DEC per day. Do you think I'll do better from playing?
