DEC Baterries Are Officially for Sale!

Since a couple of minutes ago, at the time of starting to write this post, the DEC Batteries (DEC-B) sale began.

Love them or hate them, having them is a decision for each of us. On second thought, I don't think anyone loves them. :) They are just means to an end.

After changing my mind a couple of times throughout the recent weeks, I decided in the end.

And my decision was to go in heavy (the definition of heavy differs from account to account, I guess). For me, and at this point in time, it meant this:

Yeah, you saw that right, there's a decimal point too. I've pretty much dove all-in on DEC-B: 734,786.6 of them.

Nothing in the liquidity pools right now, I've drained them all. All related to Splinterlands I mean.

It's kind of scary in a way. Having zero liquidity for Splinterlands for the time being and all those tokens soulbond.

But I had to take the 20% off offer. It would take a little less than half a year in the diesel pools to reach a 20% ROI (without considering fees, which would shorten that period a bit). I also didn't account to token price movements relative to each other, which may be difficult to predict. The discount alone (which can be equated in my case to an immediate 20% ROI) convinced me to make the move, considering I will most likely spend the DEC-B and more by the end of Q1 on land stuff, which is my Splinterlands focus this year.

Frankly, I expected them to go out quicker. But that's ok, if they don't I have time to buy more.

Currently, about 10% of the offer (200m of 2b) was sold in about half an hour:

I'm not advising anyone to buy or not. I made the purchase because it made sense to me in my particular situation.

Lot of guilds probably going to get upgraded. No effect on DEC price so far unfortunately.

It was more profitable to burn VOUCHERs instead of DEC. VOUCHER price increased as expected.

It looks like a very brave decision, I hope this decision will be Beneficial for you. My prayers are with you bro.

Thanks! I hope it won't be a bad decision. The worse thing that I can see happening would be that none of the Splinterlands proposals for starter packs to be interesting enough to pass. I would still be able to spend them on upgrading land buildings. But if that will be the case, I would have rather kept the tokens in the diesel pools because that's at least 6 months away.

Well, they are the same as DEC except you can't sell them. You can only spend them inside Splinterlands in the future. But if your plan is to make those purchases anyway, the 20% bonus (actually more) seemed attractive.

Currently not increasing the price of Sprinterland cards and things but we will see in the coming days the price of all these things will increase because now the team is working.

Can you use it for guild donations?

Not yet, but it's probably going to be one of its first use cases. However, that's not how I intend to use them.

I don’t have lands. Does it make sense to lock in some DEC? Not sure what I would use it for.

How about the vouchers? A tiny pump but still depressed overall.

I burned VOUCHERs, not DEC because they gave me more DEC-B at the time. So I swapped everything to VOUCHERs and then to DEC-B. Not sure if it's still the case after the prices changed, haven't checked.

In my opinion, if you don't have a clear destination for DEC-B, you shouldn't lock your funds into it. You might regret it later.

I don't know if it's a good idea or not but it's going to burn a lot of DEC. So there is a maximum supply for DEC-B? I don't think I will be bothering until it's closer to the maximum cap.

Yes, they are 2b. Only about 350m sold so far. About 120m DEC were burned so far from what I've seen on the mavs channel from someone who kept track. The rest were VOUCHERs.

Very interesting to see your reflection behind the decision to go in heavy on DEC-B. Since I own only 4 plots of land, I believe that it doesn't make much sense for me to purchase big quantities of DEC-B.

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post! Comment Footer.jpg

Yep, I agree with you. It wouldn't be worth it for 4 plots of land. In a way, land owners are in for lots of expenses before making any profits. I hope it will be worth it, otherwise, I will be really salty down the road, lol.

I traded in a few vouchers for DEC-B for my one land plot.

If you traded them early enough it was an even better deal than 20% off. But yesterday the price of vouchers increased and both DEC and vouchers only offered a 20% discount. Sure, for one plot the difference won't be significant. But for 100 or 1000, that's a different deal completely.
