First Goal Completed: DEC-B Saved * My Hive Goals (Week 13, 2023)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only some information, so if you want details, they can be found in the post.

I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2023, for reference, if needed.

For last week's update, I briefly increased my goal for DEC Saved from 1.5m to 2m DEC (actually DEC-B). After seeing how the surveying works on the QA server, and realizing I shouldn't push harder for the starter packages or I won't have enough DEC when the 1.5 land begins, I decided to get back to my previous target (already increased once from 1m to 1.5m). I would actually have funds to reach 2m DEC-B, but that would be counter-productive since I will need DEC, not DEC-B on land 1.5, for the most part.

So, I have 1.5m DEC-B right now and consider my first goal for 2023 completed.

At the same time, I already started my next goal, which is DEC Saved 2. This time I will need DEC, not DEC-B. The exact amount remains to be seen, depending on many factors. The deadline will be June, most likely.

Let's see what changed since last week regarding my Hive goals.

HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal

After powering up 1000 HIVE on HPUD, my staked HP is 28259 HP this week. HBD savings increased to 1117 HBD after I received the interest.

Here's what the evolution of the HP+HBD goal looks like:

image.png

I'll need to have one of the targets (HBD or HIVE) reached to consider this goal completed.

If a target becomes too easy, I may increase the target, but not forever. Just like the market can play against your targets, they can play in their favor too.

LEO Staked Main Goal

135 LEO staked last week.

I wasn't able to reach 13500 LEO staked this month to meet the guideline, but I wasn't very far either. Only 175 LEO short. It was also without any purchases, as I planned at the beginning of the month.

Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus

Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.

First Land-Related Goal: DEC/DEC-B Saved - Completed

This goal is COMPLETED.

Deadline: When DEC-B offer runs out, either because all were sold out or because the time limit was reached (April 9th).

Target to consider the goal completed: 1.5 mil. DEC-B saved. Done!

DEC Saved 2 Goal

Deadline: June, most likely.

Target to consider the goal completed: to evaluate after surveying.

Current situation: 181k DEC in diesel pools.

New Land-Related Goal: Maxed Cards for Staking on Land

This goal is on hold until after I survey my land. The whitepaper revealed a potential 50% performance reduction for staked cards based on their splinter association with the type of terrain. Without knowing what type of terrain I'll have, especially on the most valuable plots, I'd buy cards blindly. I'll most likely have to sell some cards afterwards and buy other cards, but I probably won't buy any more cards at this time.

The purpose of this goal is to build the amount of maxed-level cards I need for staking on my tract.

We will need to fill 5 slots per plot with staked cards, without requiring summoners (that doesn't mean they can't be used as regular cards).

So, what are the details of it?

Deadline: June 2023, probably.

The number of maxed-level cards needed for staking on land: 500 (5 x 100).

Current situation: 111 / 500 (22.2%)

Time remaining: ~10 weeks

I could probably add some more maxed-level cards from my playing deck if I'll need to (some are probably underutilized in my playing deck).

Comments Made

I started this week with a total of 13158 comments made.

Ended the week with 13248 comments made, which brings the number of my comments this week to 90.

I now need an average of 122 to reach the goal of 18k.

Weekly Task - Try Out PIMP Tokens

For a long time, I was a regular seller of the PIMP tokens mainly... because I don't like the name.

After some people that I appreciate got more involved with the token, I decided to give it another chance and purchased a couple of hundred of them and staked them. I'll hold for a while. If I like what I see, I'll keep them, if not, I'll unstake and sell them for something else.

I certainly didn't purchase enough to be among those who receive dividends, nor will I, because I lost the start and I don't want to play catchup. My impression is they distribute too many tokens, while I prefer fewer (1 is better if it's the right one). Too many tokens distributed would give me more work to sell what I don't want.

I am quite active, that's true. And consistent over time, which is how small gains compound over time.

Nice progress and congratulations on the DEC-B goal completion. As for PIMP, I saw that they were giving out dividends and I gave up because I was already a week behind when I did find out. It didn't seem worth it and I wasn't interested in researching the community to make content for it.

Thanks!

As for PIMP

Yeah, it's a long shot. Just giving it a test if it's worth holding a non-dividend paying stake.
