GLX Airdrop for Staked SPS Holders Came to an End
... and I didn't even know that. I just did a routine check and found that out.
The GLX airdrop for staked SPS started on 25 October 2022 and it was slated to last one full year, meaning until 24 October 2023, including it, most likely.
I didn't remember the date off the top of my head, but I did see it here:
As for how long it was going for, that I didn't forget, because it was the same as the airdrop for SPS, but we can check that in the whitepaper or more easily on the same FAQ page:
So, without planning for it, I caught the moment for the end of the GLX airdrop quite in time.
Something else that is about to end (in two weeks), are the staking rewards for the GLX. Check this out:
As someone who haven't purchased any packs for the GLG game, I wonder what will be next for me on GLS.
I see there are two diesel pools featuring GLX, SWAP.HIVE:GLX and SPS:GLX, but are they incentivized, other than the trading fees, because I don't see anything on BeeSwap regarding any rewards?
The whitepaper mentions 100m GLX LP rewards over the course of 65 months (20m per LP + reserve for future pairs), but have they started? Can we see/claim them anywhere or they are added automatically?
I'm not really drawn toward the GLG game. My initial plan was to hold GLX as the governance token for the entire GLS staked or in LPs, waiting for a future game at some point, maybe that will stir my interest. But that future seems further and further away.
I admit I haven't followed the developments for GLS-GLG as much as I do on Splinterlands. Maybe they shared something about the future in their regular meetings. Now that they are a different company than Splinterlands, I suppose there's a different account to follow on Hive. I don't know that either. At least I can see announcements in discord...
Other than playing GLG, what are your plans for GLS now than the aidrop is over and the staking rewards are about to dry out as well?

Okay, should have read further in the provided FAQ, before writing the above. I see you have to setup an account to get them. And provide an email address to do so ... 🙄 Not too excited about that, preferring to maintain my privacy ...

Thats good news that the airdrop has ended. I have been stacking GLX as much as possible and hope we have some game to play for the start of the next season. I also have some packs staked and hope the GLX and pack staking will continue. Looks like the token could trend up in the next weeks. Lots of air above the current price.
Do you know anything about the GLX staking rewards going on past the following 2 weeks?
I dont know anything about that yet and there is nothing in the Discord. I know that the pack staking was supposed to end, but we still receive rewards for them, so I presume staked GLX will continue to make rewards, but maybe at a reduced rate.
they will also stop, then GLX will be on pool rewards (will be setup in future, no ETA.) and P2E rewards (again no ETA)
After 2 week GLX staking will give only GLGT as rewards.

It was already ended long back, maybe UI has bug, Unstake your packs.

I just found out about this now. Granted I didn't really get into GLS, I had been staking my GLX. Based on the reshuffling Aggy should be the one heading GLS now. I am not in the discord so I am not updated, but I do hope it becomes successful.
Yes, Aggroed is in charge of the GLS side of the business now. r1s2g3 provided some useful updates in the comments up there.

I haven't really been following it and I haven't touched my airdropped GLX that much. I'll probably check things out in the next few weeks and offload it. I don't think I will be playing GLS because I am full enough with Splinterlands.
Yeah, I have not yet decided what to do going forward on GLS. You have a point that if you don't intend to play GLG, maybe it's better to focus on Splinterlands.

Then you don't have much of an interest in GLS and focused on Splinterlands, which is fine... We don't need to be everywhere...
Yeah when I made that decision, I was just trying to focus on Splinterlands. Since I was still a small player, it's better not to spread myself too thinly. :)
It's good that people who had staked will get the airdrop and it will benefit them and all those people will support this project a lot in the future.

I'm always amazed by how quickly time seems to fly.
Without the gameplay, it's not much to keep the price of GLX from falling. Although it helps that the inflation from the airdrop and soon the staking rewards dried out.
