Splinterlands Goals After Surveying * My Hive Goals (Week 14, 2023)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only some information, so if you want details, they can be found in the post.

I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2023, for reference, if needed.

Enough things changed last week from the perspective of my Hive goals. The most important factor is Land 1.0, where surveying of land added more information that made me update my Splinterlands goals. I still expect some clarity regarding terrain preferences for Canyon (in my case), but I worked around that for my goals for the time being.

Something else that is worth remarking on, is that DEC is getting very close to its peg, something many people didn't see possible not so long ago. Once DEC goes above it, it is likely that the SPS burning mechanism will keep it around 1000 DEC per $1, while SPS will start rising because of the decreasing circulating supply.

Let's see what changed since last week regarding my Hive goals.

HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal

My staked HP slowly increased to 28330 HP this week. I added a bit to my HBD savings so they are now at 1120 HBD.

Here's what the evolution of the HP+HBD goal looks like:

image.png

I'll need to have one of the targets (HBD or HIVE) reached to consider this goal completed.

If a target becomes too easy, I may increase the target, but not forever. Just like the market can play against your targets, they can play in their favor too.

LEO Staked Main Goal

I purchased 175 LEO this week (check the last section) and staked it. Everything else I keep for LPUD. This month LPUD may be a challenge for me because I won't be at home, and hopefully, I'll be able to do it from my smartphone.

Back to the guideline and waiting for LPUD. 980 more LEO need to be staked this month.

Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus

Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.

First Land-Related Goal: DEC/DEC-B Saved - Completed

This goal is COMPLETED.

Deadline (passed): When DEC-B offer runs out, either because all were sold out or because the time limit was reached (April 9th).

Target to consider the goal completed: 1.5 mil. DEC-B saved. Done!

DEC Saved 2 Goal

Deadline stage 1: June (but sooner if possible).
Deadline stage 2: ?
Deadline stage 3: End of 2023?

Target to consider the goal completed:

  • stage 1: 1.2m DEC
  • stage 2 (will become DEC Saved 3 Goal): 2.2 DEC (1m additional DEC)
  • stage 3 (will become DEC Saved 4 Goal): 5 DEC (2.8m additional DEC)

Current situation: 192k DEC (x2) in diesel pools (+11k).

New Land-Related Goal: Maxed Cards for Staking on Land

Unless very cheap cards are on the market, this goal is on hold until I reach DEC Saved 2 Goal (stage 1).

The purpose of this goal is to build the amount of maxed-level cards I need for staking on my tract.

We will need to fill 5 slots per plot with staked cards, without requiring summoners (that doesn't mean they can't be used as regular cards).

So, what are the details of this goal?

Deadline:

  • stage 1: End of June 2023
  • stage 2: End of 2023 (this will be a new goal)

The total number of maxed-level cards needed for staking on land: 500 (5 x 100).

  • stage 1: need 220 maxed cards for land by the deadline
    • stretch goal: have optimized cards for 24 plots
  • stage 2: have 500 maxed cards for land
    • stretch goal: have optimized cards for 44 plots

Current situation: 111 / 500 (22.2%)

Time remaining until Stage 1 deadline: ~9 weeks

I could probably add some more maxed-level cards from my playing deck if I'll need to (some are probably underutilized in my playing deck).

Comments Made

I decided to cut 1000 from the target comments at the end of this year, based on the consistent drop in the number of comments I make weekly. This is the only goal I didn't reach last year either, so I don't want to foul myself with a higher target than I'll likely attain.

Reduced goal: 17k comments at the end of 2023. At this target, an average of 98 per week should do it (which is still quite high based on my recent commenting patterns).

I started this week with a total of 13248 comments made.

Ended the week with 13325 comments made, which brings the number of my comments this week to 77, which is low even for my new target.

I now need an average of 98 to reach the goal of 17k.

Weekly Task - Buy LEO

Last month I didn't buy any LEO and fell short by 175 LEO compared to the 1000 staked LEO monthly guideline. This week I decided to buy that amount of LEO and I did.

I also staked it, while my remaining LEO stays liquid awaiting LPUD.

Therefore for April, I'm again at 1000 needed to be on course, instead of 1175.

Not everyone needs to have certain goals. If you instead withdraw HIVE regularly, don't say you have the goal to buy HIVE and power it up. Maybe you wish you had, but that's different than a goal.

We have a property standing as soon as it is sold I will invest in it. Right now I have to take out the HBD for daily expenses but I haven't put my HP on power down.

I think it's a good thing that DEC is moving toward the peg and there haven't many burns for SPS lately. So I think it's about time for burning to take effect.

Great progress on your goals.

Yes, the need for DEC for card staking on land is huge, and we are still at the beginning of the trend. Once DEC hits 0.0001, SPS should start getting some attention.

LEO is the base token for one of the teams who have developed a lot on and around Hive. Its price isn't great compared to what it was at one point, but this could be a good buying point if things turn around.

But, in my opinion, you should start accumulating LEO only if you use their products quite often, like Leofinance or Threads, maybe Cub Finance.
