Will I Pay to Use Soulbound Reward Cards on Land? NO! * My Hive Goals (Week 26, 2023)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only some information, so if you want details, they can be found in the post.

This week I want to discuss the pre-proposal Matt put out, which directly affects my Splinterlands goals.

The idea he had was to add an unlocking fee to be able to play soulbound cards on land. This fee is based on the BCX and the card foil and goes as high as 100k DEC for a maxed-out GFL.

This would be a fee that is burned, not something that you lock or something like that and still own.

So, basically, you earn the soulbound reward cards, but if you want to play them on land you need to pay.

The reason provided: to mitigate accounts that farmed these cards with multiple accounts.

Ok... Then, what happens with the reward cards farmed before the introduction of soulbound reward cards using the same method or even with fewer restrictions? They are free to use since they are not soulbound, right? And since they are an older edition, they have a higher PP too. How is that consistent if the purpose is to combat the use of farmed reward cards on land and to re-activate the card market?

I think the extent of measures attempting to bring DEC to peg is already out of proportion and there is no guarantee the process will work once the "flywheel" effect will be achieved.

All these measures do in many cases now is to amplify people's negative feelings. And we are talking here about people who have been involved with the game and supported it for a long time, not necessarily those who seek ways to abuse the economy. Just check the comments on the pre-proposal!

Regarding the effect of this proposal on my goals if it were to pass. Right now I have included only 2 monsters in my lists of cards for land. But one of them is a GFL and is already 3/4, so I'd need 75k DEC to unlock it. That is if I don't max it. Will I pay for that? NO!

The problem is I planned to use more of these soulbound reward cards that reached a high enough level on my land, so I didn't need to buy useless cards from the market, just for their BCX. If this kind of politics continues, you get yourself a land seller here... Maybe that's what you want...

Let's see what changed since last week regarding my Hive goals.

HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal

My staked HIVE reached 32,135 HP, after this week's HPUD. I remain with 200 HBD in my savings, and building up my liquid HBD author rewards for a while. You never know when you need some liquidity.

Here's what the evolution of the HP+HBD goal looks like:

LEO Staked Main Goal

I staked 50 LEO since last week, reaching 16,058 right now.

Started to keep a small amount of liquid LEO for a while now, in case it pumps hard without warning. Not that I'm expecting it in the next period, but that's the point. It happens when you don't expect it.

Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus

Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.

First Land-Related Goal: DEC/DEC-B Saved - Completed

This goal is COMPLETED.

Deadline (passed): When DEC-B offer runs out, either because all were sold out or because the time limit was reached (April 9th).

Target to consider the goal completed: 1.5 mil. DEC-B saved. Done!

DEC Saved 2 Goal - Stage 1 Completed

Deadline stage 2: August
Deadline stage 3: End of 2023?

Target to consider the goal completed:

• stage 1: 1.2m DEC (COMPLETED)
• stage 2: 2.2 DEC (1m additional DEC)

Current situation: 1.2m DEC (liquid) and 47k DEC x 2 = 94k DEC in SWAP.HIVE:DEC diesel pool.

New Land-Related Goal: Cards for Staking on Land Stage 1 Completed

The total number of maxed-level* cards needed for staking on land: 500 (5 x 100).

• stage 1: need 120 cards for land by the deadline (decreased from 220) COMPLETED
  • stretch goal: have optimized cards for 24 plots COMPLETED
• stage 1.5: need 220 cards for land by the deadline
• stage 2: have 500 cards for land
  • stretch goal: have optimized cards for 44 plots

(*) any card with at least 1000 PP suitable for the terrain types I own will do (better for better plots); doesn't have to be maxed

Comments Made

Original goal: 18k, REDUCED to 17k, by the end of 2023.

I started this week with a total of 14445 comments made.

Ended the week with 14546 comments made, which brings the number of my comments this week to 101. In a downtrend the last 3 weeks, but still better than average... I need to be more active on Threads to reverse the trend!

I now need an average of 95 comments weekly to reach the goal of 17k.

Weekly Buy - CTPSB

This week was time to add another little bit to one of my favorite tokens, CTPSB, from the CTP Swarm Booster, ran by @achim03. One of the few tokens that gain value continuously and steadily in HIVE, with a small-ish liquidity though, so it's not for deep pockets.
