As in the prologue of a book, I have been given the honor of writing this introduction to the life and work of my best friend and father Sergio Carrillo. I am very happy to be part of Steemit and that is why I encourage my father to join, writing this #introduceyourself, like mine, are huge reflective experiences of self-knowledge and my origins.

Como en el prólogo de un libro, se me ha dado el honor de escribir esta introducción a la vida y obra de mi mejor amigo y padre Sergio Carrillo. Estoy muy contento de formar parte de Steemit y por eso motive a mi padre a que se uniera, escribir este #introduceyourself, al igual que el mío, son experiencias reflexivas enormes de autoconocimiento y de mis orígenes.
Sergio es una persona es el ejemplo del hombre Renacentista de nuestros tiempos, artista y deportista, mi primer entrenador y maestro de arte, es la persona más creativa que conozco y estoy seguro que va hacer de este blog uno muy interesante, los invito a seguir esta gran historia que comienza a contarse aquí…

Carrillo Family / Familia Carrillo
Sergio is the son of Martha Oyarce, a Chilean nurse who falls in love with Antonio Carrillo, Venezuela, who had gone to study Engineering in Chile at the time of Allende. At that time the couple marries and have their first daughter, the situation in the country is unstable and they emigrate to Venezuela, where Sergio and his two younger brothers are born.

Sergio es hijo de Martha Oyarce, enfermera chilena que se enamora de Antonio Carrillo, Venezolano, que había ido a estudiar Ingeniería a Chile en los tiempos de Allende. En esa época la pareja se casa y tienen a su primera hija, la situación del país es inestable y emigran a Venezuela, donde nace Sergio y sus dos hermanos menores.

The Carrillo family came from a tradition of Andean Military that saw its end with the arrival of Sergio and his brothers. I have always felt grateful and proud that my father revealed himself against that tradition that our family was bringing, creating his own tradition, humanistic, of art and sport, plural and contestant, of which I and my daughter are part.

La familia Carrillo venia de una tradición de Militares andinos que veía su fin con la llegada de Sergio y sus hermanos. Siempre me he sentido agradecido y orgulloso de que mi padre se revelara contra esa tradición que venía trayendo nuestra familia, creando su propia tradición, humanista, de arte y deporte, plural y contestataria, de la que yo y mi hija formamos parte.

The era in which my father grew up would define his life, the 60s and 70s brought with him the Hippie culture, a movement with which Sergio would feel identified, giving free rein to the creativity, solidarity and freedom that this way of life. In addition to wearing long hair and wide pants, Sergio would connect with the nature, art and feelings of peace and love that the Hippie movement promulgated. From a young age he toured Venezuela knowing and camping in its beautiful places.

La época en la que creció mi padre definiría su vida, los 60tas y 70tas traían consigo a la cultura Hippie, movimiento con el que Sergio se sentiría identificado, dándole rienda suelta a la creatividad, solidaridad y libertad que esta forma de vida. Además de llevar el cabello largo y pantalones anchos, Sergio se conectaría con la naturaleza, el arte y los sentimientos de paz y amor que el movimiento Hippie promulgaba. Desde muy joven recorrió Venezuela conociendo y acampando en sus hermosos parajes.

From a very young age Sergio began in the musical studio, standing out in piano management, an instrument that has accompanied him to the present and that handles as if it were an extension of his own body. I have seen my father play from strident rock, to the most roots reggae of Jamaica, they are one of those people who ask you for a song and with a guitar or piano you play it, instantly, of any genre, it never ceases to impress me , is like a rocola rocking.

Desde muy pequeño Sergio se inició en el estudio musical, destacándose en el manejo del piano, instrumento que lo ha acompañado hasta la actualidad y que maneja como si fuera una extensión de su propio cuerpo. He visto a mi padre tocar desde estridente rock, hasta el reggae más roots de Jamaica, son de esas personas que le pides una canción y con una guitarra o en un piano te la toca, al instante, de cualquier género, nunca deja de impresionarme, es como una rocola ambulante.

Another activity that marked his life was swimming, the first time he visited the sea, on the beach of "Los Caracas" his father immersed him in those icy waters and, although he didn't like it at the moment, he started a way of life that It would always be attached to water. I realized that if my father kept a father's tradition it was this, many years later he would repeat the event with his son, also initiating me in a life linked to swimming and all the activities that are carried out in the water. Perhaps because of the passion that aroused the water in him or by chance, but Sergio dedicated himself to swimming fully, making him his career, way of life and daily life. Now he has more than 40 years training people from 3 months old to 100, not only to teach swimming but also to build competitive teams and outstanding swimmers in competitions.

Otra actividad que marco su vida fue la natación, la primera vez que visito el mar, en la playa de “Los Caracas” su padre lo sumergió en esas heladas aguas y, aunque ene se momento no le gusto, inicio una forma de vida que siempre estaría unida al agua. Me di cuenta que si mi padre conservó una tradición de padre fue esta, muchos años después repetiría el evento con su hijo, iniciándome también a mí en una vida ligada a la natación y todas las actividades que en el agua se realicen. Tal vez por la pasión que despertó el agua en él o por casualidad, pero Sergio dedicó a la natación de lleno, convirtiéndolo en su carrera, forma de vida y cotidianidad. Ahora tiene más de 40 años entrenando a personas desde los 3 meses de nacido hasta los 100, no solo a enseñando a nadar sino a armando equipos competitivos y nadadores destacados en competencias.

Another very significant event in Sergio's life is the moment when he forms a family. It all starts, of course, knowing my mother, Judith Sanchez, a beautiful woman she would fall in love with, marry and form a family for 7 years. In that period his son was born, that is, I, this event is very important and not only because it is my birth, but because Sergio from that moment became an exemplary father, deserving of tributes, squares and book prologues. Since I have conscience we have traveled to the most beautiful corners of Venezuela, camped, contemplating the stars, playing music around a campfire, living nature to the fullest. I always felt part of a very cheerful and adventurous Hippie commune, a set of experiences that I value more than anything in life.

Otro evento muy significativo de la vida de Sergio, es el momento cuando forma familia. Todo inicia, por supuesto, conociendo a mi madre, Judith Sanchez, hermosa mujer de la que se enamoraría, casaría y formaría familia por 7 años. En ese lapso nació su hijo, o sea yo, este acontecimiento es muy importante y no solo porque se trate de mi nacimiento, sino porque Sergio desde ese momento se convirtió en un padre ejemplar, merecedor de homenajes, plazas y prólogos de libro. Desde que tengo conciencia hemos viajado a los más bellos rincones de Venezuela, acampanado, contemplando las estrellas, tocando música alrededor de una fogata, viviendo la naturaleza a plenitud. Me sentí siempre parte de una comuna Hippie muy alegre y aventurera, conjunto de experiencias que valoro más que cualquier cosa en la vida.
