"Splinterlands" Power Strategy Tips #68

Screenshot (5294).png

As I have now been playing "Splinterlands" for over a year, I've wanted to contribute something of ACTIONABLE value to my fellow players (and FUTURE players) - but NOT just fill my #Hive feed with daily images of quest reward - or battle - SPAM (no offense to those doing so). Ultimately, Hive is about ADDING VALUE to the social experience - that is the magic of blockchain social media technology. So, after some serious pondering, I decided that a weekly "Splinterlands" player strategy diary"" type series, with CONCISE and ACTIONABLE tips, would be of most value to my audience. Please let me know your thoughts (good and/or bad), and I hope that readers (now and into the future) will benefit from this series. If you gain a better understanding of blockchain, gaming, "blockchain gaming", marketing, psychology, addiction science, geopolitics, forensics, law, ethics, philosophy, accounting, investing, anger management, and/or any other area(s) of knowledge I end up exploring (voluntarily or involuntarily) as this series naturally progresses, then I will have done my "good deed" (of providing value) for the week - and have a little extra Hive to buy/upgrade some more Splinterlands cards and/or buy some more swap.btc (#Bitcoin). Also, feel free to hit me up on the battlefield.

1 ) Last week I mentioned that I would start monitoring the number of free/reward Untamed packs I get in daily quest rewards and/or season rewards dumps. Since the previous post in this series (four days ago) I got one (1) Untamed pack in a daily rewards dump. And since I only need 4-5 packs (maximum) for reaching all of the season milestones (since I usually start at Diamond III or Diamond II level, and so need to go up a maximum of five levels per season) then I think it is at least POSSIBLE to get 4-5 reward Untamed packs per season ( every two weeks ) in the rewards dumps, to keep this strategy going WITHOUT having to spend a significant amount of hard-earned DEC ( ex. 2,000 DEC per Untamed pack) with the very real risk of getting mainly low value-cards (as opposed to simply buying cards on the market). This is especially important because buying packs is currently against my partial boycotting strategy of Splinterlands - resulting from the 1st land pre-sale debacle (more on the potentially changing status of that issue below). So I need three or four more reward Untamed packs this season to make this strategy self-sustainable.

2 ) I have been earning a maximum SPT upvote for each of my posts lately, but have been making the mistake of selling these tokens on the Hive-Engine market, and losing up to 30% of the value as a result of the differential between the suggested "lowest offer" price and the higher price I would likely need to wait several hours (or more) to liquidate, due to the generally low liquidity of the SPT token market. Again, I will state that I have learned "the hard way" that it is best to keep the QUANTITY of crypto conversions to the bare minimum, as it seems that you get hit with losses every time you convert between token. Luckily, @flawy brought to my attention that it would be advantageous to simply STAKE the SPT tokens and earn a steady return on them. This, of course, would NOT require me to execute the additional conversion from SPT to Hive, which eliminates the potential for loss - in line with my theory states above. As much as I like the extra income of selling the weekly-earned SPT token for a little extra Hive to then DEC to buy more cards, I think this longer-term strategy is worth a shot. I had 255 SPT leftovevr in my Hive-Engine account since the last update, and so I staked that. I will now proceed to stake ALL future SPT token payouts into the future and see what comes of it.

3 ) I was pleasantly surprised to see that the most recent post of my " blockchain gaming news " post series get a whopping 176 upvotes ( $1.43 USD ) within just SIX MINUTES of making the post. This may likely be the result of using the #splinterlands and #spt hashtags. The important thing here is that if I can continue building a following, and increasing the upvote amount bit more, on these two additional weekly series posts (aside from THIS series post, of which I put our two individual posts per week) this will further help me reach the goal of making the originally intended $5.00 USD swap.btc weekly purchase. I will try to think of some additional ways to boost the immediate exposure of these secondary weekly posts. This might include posting in Hive-Chat channels. Maybe I can even get the income from these secondary series posts to be nearly THE SAME as the income from each post in THIS series, which would be ideal.

4 ) It turns out that a number of those Homos (sapiens) over in the official Splinterlands #Discord server have been coordinating some sort of post-first land pre-sale debacle pool system by which disgruntled players, like myself, will have a opportunity to get the ORIGINAL land they desired to buy in the 1st pre-sale round. Somehow, @davemccoy got in touch with me on this, and originally referred my to the seemingly mythical "Jarvis" entity who seems to be mentioned by many of those Homos in Discord, but the mention never seems to be attached to an ACTUAL account. Therefore, after trying, unsuccessfully, to SUMMON the spirit of "The Great Jarvis" I finally gave up and asked @davemccoy to simply tell me what I need to do on my end to make this thing happen. Dave explained that they were putting something together, and that for 900,000 DEC (instead of the original 1st round presale price of 850,000 DEC I could finally get the "one tract" I desired ALONG WITH ALL of the perks (ex. raffle tickets, title, keeps and castle, etc.) Since, grievances aside with Splinterlands admin, I DO believe that the land has SERIOUS long-term potential, I decided that the extra 50,000 DEC is "no biggie" in the grand scheme of things, if it enables me to get proper ownership of those 100 plots (one tract) of land. So, as insttucted by @davemccoy, I sent my 900,000 DEC to the @peakpool account, and @davemccoy is working on my behalf to make the magic happen on that. He has assured me that if they can't get all of the larger DEC amount required to purchase the larger region(s) he will return my 900,000 DEC. I have faith that it will at least be handled properly.

Screenshot (5313).png

If I DO INDEED end up getting my originally desired "one tract" of land at the (roughly) 1st-round presale price of 850,000 DEC ( 900,000 DEC in this case) then once the evidence materializes of that purchase going through then I will consider lifting some of my boycotted tasks related to the game (ex. buying more packs, etc.). I will do this GRADUALLY and METHODICALLY partly as a signal to Splinterlands admin of my discontent with how things went down during the presale, and their seeming lack of any sort of action to rectify (that is, assuming they have NOT been proactive in this new pooling effort by which I will (hopefully attain my "one tract" for 900,000 DEC). I am holding to my original stance, which is one of RECIPROSITY. That is, if people treat me well then I treat them well back. The Splinterlands game, IN GENERAL, has brought much enjoyment to my life, especially during this very stressful year, and so as long as admin makes decisions which are BENEFICIAL to me as a player I will return in kind. If they act in any way(s) which are DAMAGING then I will boycott accordingly. This is my general philosophy related to the game, and will be for as long as I am a participant.

Screenshot (5318).png

5 ) Okay. As I did in the last post in this series, the highly-detailed "diary" of my daily #splinterlands activity is laid out in the last part of this post, for those of you who are inclined to follow, more closely, what I am doing. It occurred to me that this "diary" section is JUST THAT - a highly detailed record of my daily activity in the game, with some JUICY "play-by-play" analysis notes, and commentary, on what works, what doesn't, and some suggestions for further tweaking and experimentation. So, with this in mind, I hope some/any of you will enjoy this information. If not, you are under no pressure to read it fully, and are free to SKIM, or even IGNORE, any parts, or ALL parts, completely - at your discretion. I lay this out because it also HELPS ME to document my progress in the game over time, and may help some people NOW, and into the perpetual future...

If I hadn't gotten this reward card I would NOT have been able to buy any cards today with such low daily DEC income. So I got lucky.

Ya, I noticed after I sold BTCSWAR that I lost about 37% on a sale. Pretty pissed when I realized what I hadn't notice. At the time it was 300000 and sold at 159999. Numbers might not be right but you get the point. MAD! OMG, but lesson learned. great content, keep it up!

Thanks for sharing. I totally feel your pain. Recently I commented somewhere that, with crypto, you're gonna get hit with fees every time you try to "move" something, so the MINIMUM amount of "moves" the better. I am also EXPECTING that any gains I get over time (in the grand sense of the amount of crypto I accumulate above the original, let' say (hypothetically) 1.0 BTC I started with, is going to be LESS than the actual amount listed on any/all accounts, wallets, etc. For instance, as of writing this sentence, Peakmonsters ( https://peakmonsters.com/@transcript-junky/collection ) is showing that my entire collection is currently worth "$7,902.08 USD" (based on "list prices"). For the sake of SANITY, and to prevent me from throwing my laptop out the window, I have decided to just ASSUME that any quotes on value of my various cryptos will ultimately cash out at 25% LESS than any quoted values. IN this way I account for the "bullshit factor". I appreciate that some readers are actually getting and benefitting from this kind of info I sharing in these posts. Overall, I think the tragectory for ALL of us seriously involved in #Splinterlands is a positive/gainful one in the long term. Thanks for responding.

Appreciate your response also. It's all about the finance of one form or another! Everywhere you look in the blockchains is adding value. Just depends on your knowledge and how you act upon that value. Well, you certainly gained a follower. Sorry, my upvotes don't carry much value. I'm working on it. Thanks again.
