Hola comunidad! Esta semana en mi entrada para el concurso de @splinterlands quiero participar con esta carta que tenia mucho tiempo con ganas de hacer por muchas razones, sin embargo, no soy de dibujar muchos animales, pensé en quizás humanizarla, pero quise probar dibujar este lindo gatito, que a la vez me trae lindos recuerdos. Elegí esta carta porque me parece super diferente a todas las demás que he visto en Splinterlands se ve bastante adorable, leyendo un poco la Lore de esta carta no tiene mucha información, pero la frase que leí me pareció bastante interesante fue: “No te distraigas con la ternura y la pelusa, Byzantine Kitty es tierno pero duro. Si te atreves a pensar que Kitty es simplemente una mascota, todavía no te has enfrentado a Kitty en una batalla.” Esto me hizo pensar en hacer una versión un poco diferente de Byzantine Kitty, darle un toque un poco mas oscuro, pero siendo igual un poco tierno. Otra motivación para realizar este fan art fue que Byzantine Kitty me recuerda a mi querido gato que falleció el año pasado, era blanco con ojitos azules y muy tierno, mi vida junto a el fue muy feliz y en parte es un homenaje para el, use algunas de sus fotografías como referencia, al terminar el dibujo me di cuenta que se parecía muchísimo a el y me dio un poco de sentimiento pero a la vez estoy feliz de cumplir este reto que me propuse y de terminar este dibujo al cual le puse mucho cariño.

Hello community! This week in my entry for the @splinterlands contest I want to participate with this card that I had been wanting to do for a long time for many reasons, however, I’m not expert drawing animals, I thought about perhaps humanizing it, but I wanted to try drawing this cute kitty which at the same time brings back nice memories.
I chose this card because it seems super different to all the others I've seen in Splinterlands, it looks quite adorable, reading a little the Lore of this card does not have much information, but the sentence I read seemed quite interesting to me:
“Be not distracted by cuteness and fluff, Byzantine Kitty is cuddly but tough, If you dare to think kitty is merely a pet, You haven’t faced kitty in battle just yet."
This made me think of doing a slightly different version of Byzantine Kitty, giving it a slightly darker touch, but still being a bit cute.
Another motivation to make this fan art was that Byzantine Kitty reminds me alot of my beloved cat who died last year, he was white with blue eyes and very cute, my life with him was very happy and it is partly a tribute to him, use some of his photographs as a reference, when I finished the drawing I realized that it looked a lot like him and i was i little sad but at the same time I am happy for complete this challenge that I set for myself and to finish this drawing to which I put a lot of love.

Proceso/Process

Comencé mi boceto, la idea era hacer una versión un poco dark de Byzantine Kitty, manteniendo su imagen tierna, sinceramente no sabia que tipo de animales son los que rodean a Byzantine así que decidí hacer uno solo sobre su cabeza parecido a la carta original pero dándole una mirada y gestos diferentes, elegí una paleta de colores en tonos blancos y azules, comencé a pintar agregando los tonos base y en una nueva capa usando un pincel con textura de oleo pinte el pelaje del gato, como les mencione no estoy acostumbrada a pintar animales asi que fue bastante difícil poder darle la textura que quería, pero me gusto como estaba quedando, luego comencé a aplicar un tono gris de base en las calaveras donde esta apoyado este lindo gato.

I started my sketch, the idea was to make a slightly darker version of Byzantine Kitty, keeping his cute image, honestly I didn't know what kind of animals are those that surround Byzantine so I decided to make just one on the head similar to the original card but giving him a different look and gestures, I chose a color palette in white and blue tones, I started painting adding the base tones and in a new layer using an oil textured brush I painted the cat's fur, as I mentioned I'm not used to painting animals so it was quite difficult to give it the texture I wanted, but I liked how it turned out, then I began to apply a base gray tone on the skulls where this cute cat is leaning.

Pinte todas las calaveras agregando luces de un lado y sombras del otro, para que siguiera la iluminación de Byzantinne, en el fondo pinte un cielo de noche, use azul oscuro y algunos azules claros, pinte una de las alas y la multiplique para crear la otra, me pareció lindo colocar una luz tenue detrás de las alas, con algunos puntos en tonos amarillos cree unas estrellas en el cielo.

Paint all the skulls adding lights on one side and shadows on the other, to follow the Byzantinne lighting, in the background paint a night sky, use dark blue and some light blues, paint one of the wings and duplicate it to create the other, I thought it was nice to put a dim light behind the wings, with some points in yellow tones create some stars in the sky.

Pinte la criatura en su cabeza, le hice los ojos blancos y con una mirada malvada, es pequeño y quizás debas darle zoom para analizarlo, también le pinte unas pequeñas garritas, casi se me olvidaba ponerle alas asi que use las mismas alas del gato y las duplique para colocarlas en esta criatura, finalmente aplique algunos ajustes de luz.

I painted the creature on its head, I made the eyes white and with an evil look, it is small and you may have to zoom in to analyze it, I also painted some small claws, I almost forgot to put wings on it so I used the same wings as the cat and duplicate them to place on this creature, finally apply some light adjustments.

Espero que les guste tanto como a mi, fue un reto bastante rudo, pero me encanto poder terminarlo y presentar esta entrada el dia de hoy 💙

I hope you like it as much as I do, it was quite a tough challenge, but I loved being able to finish it and present this entry today 💙

The best Byzantine Kitty that i have seen so far... and i have seen a lot of them. Excellent job and i love the compostion of this work. Thanks for sharing here with us in the community.
