Splinterlands art contest | Haunted Spider

Estoy muy feliz de realizar mi segunda participación para el concurso semanal de @Splinterlands , esta vez presento un dibujo inspirado en “Haunted Spider” la cual escogí porque enseguida vi esta carta, me imagine algo muy oscuro, las arañas son unas de mis fobias y realmente mi imaginación pensó en representarlas de una manera perturbadora jaja, pensé en hacer un personaje femenino que tuviese una sonrisa macabra y hacer que de su cuello saliese esta Haunted Spider además de arañitas bebes que subieran por su rostro, para este dibujo utilice colores similares a la araña original y haciendo detalles un poco más realista como añadirle textura de pelo a la araña.

I am very happy to make my second entry for the @Splinterlands weekly contest, this time I present a drawing inspired by “Haunted Spider” which I chose because I immediately saw this letter, I imagined something very dark, spiders are one of my phobias and really my imagination thought of representing them in a disturbing way haha, I thought of making a female character who had a macabre smile and make this Haunted Spider come out of her neck as well as baby spiders that climb up her face, for this drawing I used colors similar to the original spider and making details a bit more realistic like adding hair texture to the spider.

Proceso/Process

Comencé con mi boceto, mientras mas dibujaba mas cosas imaginaba por hacer, como les dije quería hacer algo bastante creepy, ya que sus colores y el tema de que el personaje de esta carta sea una araña daba pie a realizar algo así, entonces pinte todo exactamente como lo imagine, para su piel elegí tonos morados para hacerlo lo mas parecido a Haunted spider, dibuje 8 ojos los cuales pinte de un rojo bastante llamativo, poco a poco fui dando forma a este rostro y mientras pintaba arreglaba algunas facciones que se veían un poco mal desde el boceto, como por ejemplo: la nariz, no me había dado cuenta que quedo bastante irregular por suerte pude arreglarlo.

I started with my sketch, the more I drew the more things I imagined to do, as I told you I wanted to do something quite creepy, since its colors and the theme that the character of this card is a spider gave rise to something like that, so I painted everything exactly as I imagined it, for her skin I chose purple tones to make it the closest thing to Haunted spider, I drew 8 eyes which I painted in a quite striking red, little by little I was shaping this face and while painting I fixed some features that were visible a little wrong from the sketch, for example: the nose, I had not realized that it was quite irregular luckily I was able to fix it.

Para su cabello elegí un color entre gris y negro, pero finalmente me decidí por un tono lila, dando detalles en morado oscuro y claro, coloque los colores base a la araña y realmente no sabia muy bien como crear una textura mas realista para ella, así que pensé un poco y busque entre mis pinceles, conseguí un pincel con una textura parecida a un pelaje y realice muchos pelitos con lila y morado oscuro, el cambio fue impresionante, agregue una capa con efecto “screen” para realizar algunos destellos de luz en su rostro y algunas zonas de la araña.

For her hair I chose a color between gray and black, but finally I decided on a lilac tone, giving details in dark and light purple, I put the base colors on the spider and I really didn't know very well how to create a more realistic texture for her, so i thought a bit and searched through my brushes, i got a brush with a texture similar to fur and made a lot of little hairs with lilac and dark purple, the change was impressive, add a layer with a “screen” effect to make some flashes of light on HER face and some areas of the spider.

Hay algunas arañas bebes, caminando sobre su rostro y cuello, me pareció muy genial ese detalle, pero llego el momento más difícil y era realizar el fondo, realmente me costó muchísimo esta parte ya que no conseguía un tono que hiciera juego con toda mi composición, algo que no opacara todo el trabajo de en frente, así que elegí simplemente utilizar un color oscuro y dibujar algunas líneas con un rosa fuerte, aplicando un desenfoque radial y dio este resultado y que en realidad me gusto, probe al principio hacer una telaraña pero la verdad es que no se veía muy bien del todo.

There are some baby spiders, walking on her face and neck, I thought that detail was very cool, but the most difficult moment came and it was to make the background, this part really cost me a lot since I couldn't get a tone that matched all my composition , something that would not overshadow all the work in front, so I chose to simply use a dark color and draw some lines with a strong pink, applying a radial blur and it gave this result and I really liked it, I tried at first to make a spider web but the truth is that it did not look very good at all.

Bueno esto fue un poco más difícil que el anterior, aunque no lo parezca sufrí mucho jaja, esta fue mi participación de esta semana espero que les haya gustado y mucha suerte a todos 💜

Very creative with the spider there haha. This totally increased my fear of spiders xd. The ones with the big back makes it feel like it's carrying more venom to inject us with.
