Saludos comunidad Alien! Hoy estoy presentando mi participación de esta semana para @Splinterlands y debo confesar que este ha sido el personaje más difícil que he tenido que representar hasta ahora, tenía muchísimas ganas de tomar este reto pero quede bastante destruida después de pasar un día entero intentando dibujar esta versión de Medusa, hace mucho tiempo que no pintaba serpientes y esta fue la parte mas complicada de todas, pensé en esta especie de medusa realizada con tonos verdes desaturados y con su piel de piedra, ojos rojos y potentes como la medusa original y haciendo las serpientes con un verde un poco mas pálido, también pinte algunas serpientes de tonos beige, quise mantener parte de su vestuario asi que dibuje la parte de arriba usando tonos dorados, espero que les guste.

Greetings Alien community! Today I am presenting my entry for this week for @Splinterlands and I must confess that this has been the most difficult character I have had to represent so far, I really wanted to take this challenge but I was quite destroyed after spending a whole day trying to draw this version of Medusa, it's been a long time since I painted snakes and this was the most complicated part of all, I thought of this kind of Medusa made with desaturated green tones and with its stone skin, red and powerful eyes like the original and doing the snakes with a slightly paler green, I also painted some snakes in beige tones, I wanted to keep part of her wardrobe so I drew the upper part using golden tones, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Comencé mi boceto, tenia la idea muy clara en mi mente pero realmente el boceto no me convencía del todo, a través de cada paso les explicare algunos cambios que hice, para las serpientes busque varias referencias, realmente me enredé muchísimo haciendo cada una pero finalmente lo logre, así que una vez listo comencé a pintar, use una paleta de colores un poco desaturada, comencé pintando el rostro, aplicando sombras y luces jugando con variedad de tonos, cuando finalmente estaba satisfecha, empecé a mezclar estos tonos para crear esta piel lisa, rellene la siluetas de las serpientes para luego comenzar a darles mas detalles.

I started my sketch, I had a very clear idea in my mind but really the sketch did not convince me at all, through each step I will explain some changes that I made, for the snakes I looked for several references, I really got very confused making each one but finally I made it, so once I was ready I started painting, I used a slightly desaturated color palette, I started painting the face, applying shadows and lights playing with a variety of tones, when I was finally satisfied, I started mixing these tones to create this smooth skin, fill in the silhouettes of the snakes and then start giving them more details.

Pinte el collar usando tonos dorados para luego comenzar a definir su torso de piedra y algunos pedazos que caen de ella, también pinte algunas grietas en su rostro para que el efecto de piedra fuese más notorio, algo que cambie en este punto era la forma de su boca, sentía que se veía como una sonrisa y la puse un poco mas hacia abajo, en las serpientes también realice algunos cambios ya que habían espacios que estaban un poco mal hechos, empecé a pintar las serpientes colocando primero algunos colores base.

I painted the necklace using golden tones to then begin to define her stone torso and some pieces that fall from it, I also painted some cracks on her face so that the stone effect was more noticeable, something that changed at this point was the shape of her mouth, I felt that it looked like a smile and I put it a little more down, in the snakes I also made some changes since there were spaces that were a bit poorly done, I started to paint the snakes placing some base colors first.

Pinte cada serpiente con los tonos que quería y di mucho más detalle en la forma de cada una, quise agregar la especie de corona que tiene medusa, pero quería que fuese un poco mas pequeña y sutil asi que dibuje una pequeña cadenita con una gema roja en el centro, finalmente arregle algunos detalles de luces y sombras para asi dar el resultado final.

I painted each snake with the tones I wanted and gave much more detail in the shape of each one, I wanted to add the kind of crown that Medusa has but I wanted it to be a little smaller and more subtle so I drew a small chain with a red gem in the center, finally fix some details of lights and shadows to give the final result.
