# Why am I SO LATE with these reports? - Splinter Stats Ranked Rewards Season 40 Report Card

Hi everyone!
This report is for Season 40... which ended on the 31st of January, 11 days ago. I really need to get into the habit of publishing these right as the season finishes to keep everything fresh and relevant.... but still... let's have a look shall we?
You can see already that my earnings from the season is half of what I got from Season 39 ($25.38) and nearly a third of what I got in Season 38 ($35.88) which is obviously the difference between 39 loot chests, 45 loot chests and 64 loot chests.
Loot chests are not all created equal though... the chests in Champions League are far more likely to give more and better cards than in Gold, and cards is what I'm after at this point...

Generally speaking though, this season was a little disappointing for me. I just couldn't break into Champs III at all, and that 'last day push' sometimes works really well, and sometimes really doesn't... and this season showed that.
My win/loss ratio perfectly illustrates the season I was having... for the last two seasons I was winning over 50% of my games in Modern (so the Ratio was above 1). I just found it really hard to win games... and I'm not always sure why that is.

Last season I got 302 cards and the season before that I got 325... so you can definitely see the difference between the loot chest numbers... you've got to play AND you've got to win to get those card numbers up... (ironically, the more cards you get, the better your chances of winning).
You can see because of the success of my previous seasons, I started higher, and received a lot more potions so spending less time in Gold usually nets you a higher CREDITS amount... which is not important to me, it's all about levelling up those soulbound reward cards.

Double the amount of rent compared to last season, which means sense... I imagine it'll be around this amount for a while since I'm (like everyone else) not renting out any Rebellion cards, and are participating in conflicts instead.
I definitely, definitely, definitely prefer the new airdrop conflicts system to the old 'packs purchased' system, but I do worry it is a bit of a 'rich getting richer' scenario as the people at the top will get more airdrop cards, which will increase their conflict contribution by more than the people who got less cards.
I'm not super sure how you'd fix that though... but I do like that the Splinterlands Inc team does continually seem to be evolving and trying new things... it's tough being trailblazers...!

Whoa! A massive drop in SPS this season! I'm a little shocked.
My brawl rewards have gone from 65 -> 928 -> 1245 which is amazing and entirely to me joining a new guild, but my staking rewards have gone from 5398 -> 1431 and I have no idea why. Super strange, looks like everything got a cut. Does anyone know what's happening here?

Your monthly report is always a good reminder for me to fire up and get some battles done and sneak a little higher near the end of this current season. I seem to get a better win rate at the end of the season , compared to the start.
Start season overall was about my normal but am a bit worried about this season as we are on holidays in Japan and we have covered a lot of ground, A parkrun down south, a ski trip up the freezing north and now a parkrun and site seeing in Tokyo. It will be good to get home for a rest.

In the last day or so is usually where I make up a ton of ground on the leagues, but it depends on who else is playing at the time... if you can get a win or two against accounts that are much, much higher than you then you gain so much ground. I've seriously gone through an entire league (like Gold I) in the last hour.... but it doesn't always work.
Lately the seasons have ended at my 5am or 6am, so I can really only play the night before... and sometimes I just get no traction at all and end up way lower.
A 7 win streak in Wild is awesome! Well done!
No Kyoto there is just so much to see in Japan, will have to be next time.
