# So many changes, so much funness! - Splinter Stats Ranked Rewards Season 19 Report Card

Hi everyone!

There is lots to talk about in Splinterlands. Let's get right into it!

So.... you might notice that I'm now playing in Modern as well as Wild.

I've avoided Modern pretty much since it started because most of my cards are Beta edition cards. However, a couple of things changed my mind:

1.) There was a change that went through where you now don't drop as far when the season resets... AND if you don't play during a season then you don't drop at all. Previously, when I didn't play Modern, I kept dropping and dropping until I was in Novice.

Now I can play or not play and it doesn't feel like a one step forward, three steps backwards kind of deal.

2.) Some of my soulbound rewards cards are up to levels that are useful in Bronze and Silver leagues so it's been really fun trying those out. I've been particularly enjoying the Lobb Lowland/Quora Towershead partnership. Modern is still very much a struggle for me... I'm now losing as many as I'm winning, but it's fun to mix it up.

I'm not earning anything from playing Modern, it's really just for fun.
You'll also notice again that I was able to sneak into Diamond I and then immediately stop playing.

I must have gotten way less Loot Chests than previous seasons because my Total Cards is way down (264 last season) and I got only just over half the number of potions (152 Alchemy last season).

Wooof...... SPS just seems so varied between the seasons. In this case, Staking Rewards was half what it was the previous season... which probably makes sense as staking increased for the Vruz Promo card. Land rewards are about half too, not sure what's happening there. Liquidity and License are all about half(ish) too. Guess everyone be stakin'...

Season 18 my Net SPS was 32635.224
Season 17 my Net SPS was ???
Season 16 my Net SPS was 9157.288
Season 15 my Net SPS was 17757.516.
Season 14 my Net SPS was 14016.525.
Season 13 my Net SPS was 12265.515.

I haven't played Vruz a ton of times, but he's seemed pretty fun when I have. Super, super fast! I'm also really happy with the Splinterlands team donating their time and effort to essentially reward SPS takers AND provide utility for vouchers.

I'm so curious about vouchers. I keep expecting them to become super scarce - and they really could with Promo cards, Promo Editions, Rebellion, etc but we are producing a lot every day, so I guess we'll see.

I'm really excited and nervous about Land. I'm definitely not ready for the all the card and DEC requirements - but that's okay. My strategy is to essentially get 1 plot up and running at full capacity until it's able to produce more than it costs, and then use those 'profits' to bankroll the next plot, and continue on like that until all my lands are full of workers and staked DEC and whatnot.

Obviously I'm a little worried that card prices will shoot up once Land 1.5 launches, but that's fine, I'll manage what I can. I see Land as a years long project, and there will always be Rebellion on the horizon if we still need cheap cards as workers.

So far I haven't seen anything I don't like in the Land 1.5 Whitepaper. I'm still obviously curious about the magic items/spells produced out of all this... I think it'll be hard to balance, but the team has done a great job so far so I don't see any reason not to trust that they'll get it right or make adjustments if it's not quite right.

I don't have the packs needed for SoulKeep... but I hope people are finding it fun.

I will have to get myself a Vruz. The bare foot SPS running shark, just !LUV it.
How did you build your account up to Diamond league, is it just years playing and collecting, or swapping hive blogging rewards or is a fiat input required?

No, I actually ignored Splinterlands for a couple of years even though I was very active in the overall community. However, with Justin Sun taking over the Steem blockchain and the community moving to Hive (and Steem Monsters becoming Splinterlands) - I decided to sell off my Steem power and the easiest way for me to do that was by using it to buy Splinterlands cards (that way I didn't have to mess around with exchanges, etc). Steem had a 13 week power down, so I started with the Water Splinter, bought enough cards to play that, practiced for a week and then bought cards for the next splinter, and so on.

This is why the majority of my cards are Beta edition... because those were the cards that were around at the time I was powering down my Steem.

So I guess in answer to your question, none of the above, but basically a crypto input was required to get my cards... and luckily that was before various crypto bear markets which also helped me sell off other tokens I received through Steem (HUNT tokens from a platform called Steemhunt.com) to buy DEC/SPS to join the liquidity pools.

I do feel really lucky because I'm now able to buy cards with DEC from my rentals which are essentially reward cards and extra airdropped cards.

Thanks for detailed reply, very interesting and clever work around getting out of steem via splinterlands

Changes are good, and these changes are putting positive impact on Splinterlands over all economy. I like the change in which you will be charged Dec for playing more games if you want too.

Yeah, I think it's an overall positive change for the community and ecosystem, but I totally understand a few people feel constrained by it. I personally don't see myself needing to purchase extra energy.

Updates are very important for the success of any project and to keep users interested in it. Splinterlands is doing very great and congratulations to the winner and all best for runner up.

Vruz was such a cool idea, and was really well executed. The only note I'd have, is that people who claimed 25 at a time seemed to do far better on the gold foil RNG than those who claimed all of their cards at once. Might need to look at the logic there.
I'm 100% wild. I lean way too heavily on my Alphas. Mostly because I'm a really slow learner.
Rustle says Hi. His bum's all fixed, and we're waiting to revamp the address on his tail, and take him to the hairdressers for an up-to-date colour scheme.

I know you're 100% wild, I think that's why we get along so well.

Interesting about the claiming 25 at a time. I didn't know anything about that, but if it's true it definitely seems like a code logic problem that potentially applies the percentages to the claimed-batches instead of the overall? I just did all mine at once personally.

I didn't realise you could only combine 350 cards at a time - it's honestly never come up for me before, so that was a slight hassle to manage, but a good problem to have honestly.

I'm so glad Rustle is doing well, and can't wait to see his upgrades!

By the way, what we've been seeing for some time now is that the Sprintland team has been doing a lot of good updates that have user interest back in game. And one of the major benefits of such updates is that the new user who comes in is also much happier. As we have seen some time back they have come up with reward cards. And now they have changed the energy system. Now the user will have his own choice if he wants to play more then he will have to buy energy.
