# So many Loot Chests! - Splinter Stats Ranked Rewards Season 20 Report Card

Hi everyone!

What a season!
It was so super different from all the previous seasons I've played (which is, I think, all of them).

The first big difference was the revision of the End of Season reset. I don't remember exactly, but I think if I got to Diamond II at the end of the Season, I'd drop to Gold III... and if I lost some of those early games I'd be hanging out in Silver I.

This was a huge hurdle for me, because the cards play so differently in the different leagues. The interaction between the cards in the Silver leagues is so different from the Diamond leagues, and the difference of one skill can dramatically change your performance.

What this meant was that I would have to get used to selecting different cards for different situations in Silver, and then in Gold, and then again in Diamond. It's amazing for the game, but it is trickier to get your head around in a single season.

Now... if I end up in Diamond I (my goal) at the end of the season, I get reset back to Diamond III... so I don't have to change my playstyle or card selection at all. It's an incredible change.

The second big change is the Energy system.
I'd say this has probably affected the amount of games I play in a day, but not by too much.
What it has done though, is forced players (and bots) to try and win every game. In the past you could do well just by winning lots of games... which you could achieve by playing lots of games.

Now you want to try and win every game you play.

What this means for me is that players didn't drop down as far, and players want to win every game... so I've had to fight for every win... and you can see in my Win/Loss Ratio that did not go well.

I pretty much always keep an eye on my Win/Loss ratio. If if ever starts to drop below 1, meaning I've lost more games than I've won, I usually take a break for a bit.

In Season 20... I was pummeled constantly. I lost more than I won... but the rewards overall were much better, so no complaints here.

In the last hour of the season I tried to see if I could push into Champs III from 3588 (sometimes you can win games against much higher ranked players and that can propel you forward faster than anything else)... but I found myself in a lose 30 points, win 10 points situation and dropped over 100 rating points.

I also tried the Modern seriously this season and did much better than I expected. Using Gladiator cards in ranked battle is super, super fun. I still don't have a good enough collection to do much better than the Gold leagues in Modern, but it's fun to change up the punishing Wild games every now and then.

Considering I got a total of 173 cards last season... I'd say Season 20 went extremely well for me.
I got a lot more SPS per win for spending all my time in Diamond instead of travelling from Silver -> Gold -> Diamond... so my SPS from rewards was pretty much double what it's been for the last 6 individual seasons.

Getting 3 Legendries in a single season is pretty exciting. I don't think that's ever happened to me before.

I was curious to whether the 1 DEC listing fee for each card I'm renting out would affect my earnings... and it doesn't seem to have at all.

I do very much expect the rental market to change.... tomorrow...... if Land 1.5 goes live.
I know I personally will be pulling cards off the rental market to work my lands.

I do wonder if lots of people will stop playing the actual game to work their lands, at least in the Diamond and Champion leagues. I think at least a lot of cards will be removed from the rental market though, and lots and lots of cards will be combined (if they haven't been already in preparation) as people move from renting out Level 1 cards to using Maxed cards to work their lands. People might also not want to spend DEC on renting cards because they need it to power their lands.

Overall, I'm extremely curious to see how Land affects the economics of Splinterlands.
I don't have many plots at all... so I'll be able to keep playing with only minimal changes to my card collection. I definitely won't need to use cards I use regularly, that's for sure.

This is the Card Market on Splintercards for today:

CARD MARKET
84,197,225 $ Total Market Cap (-0.04 M$ last 24h)
36,791 $ Market volume last day
28,188 Market sales last day
1,698,349 Active rentals
4,575 $ Daily rentals volume

Interested to see if it changes much for the next Season Report Card.

Staking rewards continues to drop, which of course makes sense since 549,359,494 : Total staked SPS (19.6% APR in SPS and VOUCHER) has been staked in the game. I'm assuming that's the highest percentage we've seen in a long time.

Again, I wonder what affect Land will have on SPS. Surely it will affect the liquidity pools as people remove DEC from those pools. People may also remove SPS to convert to DEC (to power their land) ... especially if it hits the peg.

Season 19 my Net SPS was 17007.533
Season 18 my Net SPS was 32635.224
Season 17 my Net SPS was ???
Season 16 my Net SPS was 9157.288
Season 15 my Net SPS was 17757.516.
Season 14 my Net SPS was 14016.525.
Season 13 my Net SPS was 12265.515.

Lots to be really excited about in Splinterlands at the moment.
I'd love Land 1.5 to go live tomorrow, but I'm also totally fine if it doesn't... it really needs to be working as perfectly as possible since people may be moving thousands of dollars worth of digital assets around.

You have done very well and yes it is very important to keep an eye on win/lose ratio for maintaining you position. As far as your gameplay is concerned, you did very great and best of luck for the next season.

Nice nunbers! I've tried to push to Champ III in the past 2 seasons, but those last 100 points are insane, found myself falling on the ranking over and over again. Oh well... let's see how this season goes! ;) !BEER

Thanks!

I actually think the best time to push might be a couple of days before season end. I used to be able to make up so much ground in the last few hours... but that just doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Good luck!
We'll see if everyone gets too distracted with Land to play and we can both just cruise right to Champs I.

I'm really curious to see what will happen when lands go live, especially in wild format (the only one I play). Hope you're right! ;)

You are absolutely right when a person loses more games he gets tensed like you were having trouble but later you worked hard again and got back to your same level. As new cards appear in the game or a member appears whose cards we have not seen before, we do not have to lose. Glad to see you claim your position again.

I do not play games here on the Hive Blockchain (and almost not anywhere else) but I like the scientific approach you all guys have when playing them. It really shows that you are aiming to get an income and you probably have seen a real chance to do it.
Keep it rocking then :D
