Life Begins on New Years Day

I've always hated New Years Eve because you are expected to go out and have a good time. I prefer an old mans pub watching a match with a couple of auld fellas (who bearly know what date it is ) in the afternoon so New Years Eve never appealed to me. What makes it worse for me is that I am a New Year's baby and what makes this year even worse is that I have a milestone birthday on New Years Day. The big four zero.
I will throw in another one. The pubs in Ireland close at 8pm now so we couldn't go out if we wanted to. So everyone thinks I'm having a house party but no siree bob. Not this year. I like that the old pandemic is a great excuse to be anti social. We have to think of the children.
The birthday festivities will begin on New Years Day so New Year's Eve can be a lazy one for me. So what will we do? I'm not as much as a New Years grinch that I will go to bed although it did cross my mind. I have a couple of friends who are trying to make me watch the Marvel films. I have seen a couple of them but never sat down and went , right , let's connect the dots. I want to watch the Avengers so I decided I am going to watch them in order of release. Myself and my wife had a row whether we should watch them in chronological order or by film release. The comic book guys on Reddit suggested by film release date which I will go with.

So Disney have 4 phases to watch them in. It begins with Iron Man 1 then Iron Man 2 then the first Thor and then the first Captain America. The end of this phase is the first Avengers. We can do that. We should have Phase 1 knocked out of the park by 2nd January but I'd say my wife is bringing me away for my birthday. I know we are going to Mount Juliet but that might be a decoy. There may be a Spurs match on the cards but they have 3 away games in a bloody row so if I am going to a game its Watford away on Sunday or Chelsea Away next week in the cup.

40 is starting to be a stick to beat me with.

My wife asked me tonight if I wanted to watch something and I said I will in ten minutes, I'm doing a bloody Splinterlands quest. It wasn't with a splinter that was my strongest so it took a bit longer.

"You are 40 on Saturday and you are playing with monster cards" she spouted.
"Well you are 39 and you are knitting." I retorted."
We both sat there questioning our hobbies.
I had the comeback in the bank. I knew it was coming. Anyway the Quest rewards were well worth it as always. The first chest was 2 DEC. The second chest was 9 DEC. FML. I'm 40 in 2 days and I have been battling it out for a princely sum of 4 cent. There are bum's on the street that wouldn't pick that up off the ground. Jesus. The quicker I get to Gold the better.
If any fat cat from Splinterlands is reading this post. Give me a nice quest reward tomorrow night. None of these potions or DEC malarky. Cards, I want cards.
Anyway I may watch some more of the Beatles gently sniping at each other on Disney. One of my favourite bands nearing the end and it is interesting to see their relationships. John Lennon now the quiet member of the group with Yoko Ono sat next to him. Even this annoyed me. Fuck off woman. Leave the band rehearse without you being there. There were also a couple of Jehovah monks that George had with him. It was just madness the whole thing. Paul ended up being the boss and trying to get them through it. Great viewing. Seeing Paul come up with the song "Get Back" on his own while waiting for John Lennon to arrive is worth it on its own. So I might stick this on as well. Come to think of it I have loads to do tomorrow evening and I got a craft beer hamper off my wife as well so I am sorted. So Happy New Year to all my virtual friends on Hive. Have a good one.
