Here's my 16th Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish.

I've joined the Pizza 2 Guild over at the PIZZA DISCORD and was introduced to the world of Guild Brawls in Splinterlands. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. 🎉🥳🎊
Guild Brawls are generally the same as Battles, but with some minor tweaks (of which I'll save for another day). Lets get right down to business as I analyze my brawls. 🧐⚔️🛡️

I've settled into joining Fray 3, the Bronze Chaos Legion Fray, for a few weeks now. As I've mentioned before, this is the level most suited for me and the one I'm most comfortable with given the collection of cards I own/rent.

With that said, lets get down to a review of my battles, or in some cases where my opponent fled 🏃🏻💨 - non battles 😨.

WON.

This was a perfect lineup for me against the opponent.

I ended the match with my entire team still alive on the battlegrounds. Even the one time whereby my Diemonshark was finally killed resulted in it being resurrected with 1 HP and it's entire 7 Armour intact again.

An overwhelming perfect victory indeed. 🏆🏅💪🏻

LOST.

This was an unexpected loss. Simply put, I lost due to insanely bad luck. 😰🤞🏻🍀

The battle was ripe for the picking after the opponent's dual tanks, the Mycelic Slipspawn and Venari Knifer, had been taken down with my team mostly intact. And RNG being RNG, his Regal Peryton dodged all my attacks until I was left with only my Edith Emberstar on the field. Being a ranged unit which couldn't attack from the front, it was a slow death with the opponent dealing 1 damage a turn until I lost. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤯

Sigh. Nothing much I can do about this if the universe is intent on sabotaging me. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤯

LOST.

A deserving victory by the opponent. I should have done something similar on hindsight. In a game of such low mana limits, A single bloodlusted Gladius card will decimate an array of numerous "small" cards.

WON.

Extremely close!!! The battle actually ended in a draw with both our last remaining units facing off and dying to the poison ruleset together! (Our gladius cards were the last ones standing - no surprise there).

This is the first time where I saw the Home Advantage of an upgraded barracks being put into play. Draws will be converted into Wins for the "Home Team" with a level 2 barracks. 😱

WON.

Yet another Perfect Victory with not a single casualty. The opponent definitely picked the wrong summoner. In a reverse speed ruleset matchup, picking a summoner that makes your opponent slower is as good as buffing them. Considering that the opponent did not use a single card from the Dragon Splinter too to go with Summoner Quix, that was basically giving himself a crippling disadvantage.

An easy win for me. 🥳

WON.

This battle actually started out looking like it was going to be in the opponent's favour. My melee frontline was taking a lot more damage than expected due to the opponent's Cursed Windeku with it's Thorns ability.

However, the strength of Katrelba Gobson soon bore fruit the minute she took down her first target. From there on, it was a snowballing effect as Bloodlust turned her into an unstoppable monster.

WON.

With the Earthquake ruleset in play, it was a no brainer for me to pick a Flying lineup where possible, and heavily armored units if it wasn't. I took a lot less damage from the Earthquake damage at the end of every turn compared to the opponent and it was a cascading effect as I overpowered him.

An easy and convincing victory.

I finished with a win-loss ratio of 5 wins and 2 losses.

A pretty good result for me if I may say so. One of the losses was an what I'd consider a fluke loss with that super evading unit. There were even 2 "perfect" wins among those, with my entire team still standing at the end. That's really something rare and to have it happen twice in the space of one event is quite simply amazing! 😱🤯🥳

PIZZA 2 Guild only managed to finish in 7th place! (a similar result to last week 😰😰😰) 🏆🏆🏆

There's no sugar coating this. It is TERRIBLE. 😰 Not on the top 3 podium, not even on the first page of the list of participants. We've got unfilled frays, and even filled frays where members just simply didn't show up to participate in the brawls at all 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️.

This was a tough week though, at least based on the matchups everyone had overall. We were pooled into a group of very competitive guilds. So that's partially the reason for the poor results, which is completely ok in my opinion. At least we tried our best. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Also, given that the server went down for maintenance about 30 minutes before the Brawls were supposed to end, some of us might have genuinely been caught off-guard. 😰😰😰 And if so, that's also a somewhat reasonable excuse. It's probably wise to not keep it till the very last minute though. A lesson I learnt myself the hard way about 4 weeks ago. ⏰⏰⏰

We probably need new blood to replace those who're completely inactive 😫. Doing brawls are just a once a week event. An off day or when real life takes hold is a reasonable excuse to skip it every now and then. But we've got more guild members than guild frays and if it still can't be filled with active players for the past nearly 2 months and counting... 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️.

Well, some food for thought anyway.
