The Return of NON SOULBOUND Reward Cards!!!
Good morning Splinterfriends!
Today is going to be a relatively quick post but there is SO MUCH GOING ON in @splinterlands right now... so much FORWARD MOMENTUM...
That one of the MAJOR ISSUES with the Reward Card System was fixed a month or two ago... AND NOBODY HAS SAID ANYTHING!!!
I mean there has been so much positive movement from the Team, including @cryptomancer on the Land Front, @davemccoy and @yabapmatt on the Game Front... that the return of NON SOULBOUND CARDS HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY ATTENTION or praise!!
Let me rephrase that... there has been SO MUCH POSTIVITY and PROGRESS in Splinterlands that NO ONE HAS MENTIONED ONE OF THE BIGGEST COMPLAINTS BEING SOLVED!!! That's HUUUUUUGE!!!
Ok... hold on... where was I... got a little sidetracked... oh right!!
Quick recap:
In the old days aka the Untamed era, you could earn Reward Cards and then trade them or even SELL them immediately upon winning them!
This was one of the BEST mechanics in the game and I thought it was AWESOME!!! However, many people ALSO thought it was awesome and if I can earn 10 of them... I could run 1,000 Bots to earn 10,000 of them and with Chaos Legion's MASSIVE Print Run... that sent prices plummeting as Bot Armies earned and then liquidated them en masse...
It was one of the key factors that rekt the economy and drove away many players
The response from the Team was to make Reward Cards Soulbound aka NOT TRADEABLE OR SELLABLE - this sucked A LOT for those of us who loved the thrill of seeing a GFL Reward Card pop up and at one point Harklaw, Djinn Oshannus and others were SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS apiece... FOR ONE COPY!!
Feels kinda like a "Gather 'round children, let Gramps tell you a story from his time" moment... BUT IT IS TRUE!!
Fast forward synopsis: bots banned in Modern, Wild Pass enabled, DEC Fees to Unlock Cards, etc etc and then most recently, we had the Conclave Arcana Reward Cards released...
Check out one of the NEW Conclave Arcana Reward Cards:
Notice that it says "Est. Value: $6.00"... But notice that you also have a chain link that indicates it is Soulbound... Hmmm... how can you have a "value" for a card that isn't tradeable 🤔
Enter the Unlock Scroll!! Splinterlands devised an extra step for those who are looking to sell/trade their extras... and that step is ALSO Winnable... or Craftable from your Lands!!!
However... as I mentioned... with SO MUCH HAPPENING... Reward Cards, Land Cards, Raffle Cards, JACKPOT CARDS... no one has even been remotely excited to see this:
I think this deserves a bigger shoutout than it has received!! It has been one of the MAJOR COMPLAINTS FROM THE PLAYERS AND IT. IS. FIXED!!!!
Seriously though... Gold Foils, GF Arcane, Black Foils and BF Arcane are ALL Un-Soulbound!!! So are the Jackpot Cards - even in REGULAR FOIL!!
Oh.. and in closing... just how much might one of these new Conclave Arcana GFL or BFL be selling for???
Looks like one of the top GFL only has TWO on the market and $70 is the lowest price out there!!!
As for Black Foils... well... let's go see... how much is a COMPLETELY FREE, WINNABLE CARD WORTH in THE BEST DAMN PLAY2EARN GAME OUT THERE?!?!
That's right... from $270... up to... checks again... $1,300?!?! For a WINNABLE CARD!!!
I haven't been very lucky this year... and been pretty salty & vocal about my sub-average luck... but if this kind of MIND BLOWING news is barely getting ANY attention at all... that should tell you just how many BIG THINGS are happening in this Game!!
Despite Crypto not Crypto-ing as we all thought it would for Dec '25... I am pretty darn excited to see what 2026 brings us!!

Naturally, after everything leading up to this moment, I believe Splinterlands is one of the BEST web3 games out there!
