Why I Am EXTREMELY Bullish On Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) This Month

Unless you have been living under a rock the last two months you have probably heard something about Splinterlands and the new Splintershards (SPS) governance token that was launched on Binance Smart Chain. Over the course of the first year Splinterlands asset holders will receive their SPS airdrops daily for a total of 365 airdrop claims. This of course has driven an insane amount of demand for not only the cards but also for the in-game currency Dark Energy Crystals (DEC). By simply buying and holding DEC or any other assets in your account and various linked wallets you qualify for the free SPS daily.

The current APR for DEC holders (receiving SPS drops) is over 200% and that is unbelievable compared to most other DeFi yield farm returns. This means that the price of DEC will continue to rise until the APR reaches parity with other pools/protocols or until the price of SPS declines to the point where the APR is closer to 70-80% in my opinion.

Additionally there is a buyback wallet that is purchasing DEC like clockwork every 10 minutes. It is set to buy $400 worth of tokens for a total of $2,400 an hour. If you do a little digging into the blockchain you can trace where the funds came from and see for yourself- the situation is quite bullish if you ask me. This wallet is being funded directly by the dev team themselves using hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide buyback support, which continually raised the price floor since they began over 9 days ago.

How long will these buybacks go on for and will that wallet eventually dump the over 13 million DEC tokens it has accumulated? I think we are in for at least a few more weeks of solid daily buybacks from the team as we can see there are plenty of funds to keep this going on. They are using $57,600 a day to fund this wallet and have been topping it off regularly with $100K BUSD transfers.

As long as the price of DEC continues to rise, and the SPS airdrops are giving high returns by remaining at these prices, I believe we will see even more holders continue to flood into DEC token. The existing holders are increasing their positions to stack more SPS tokens with each drop in anticipation for staking to earn VOUCHER tokens (used for booster packs). These VOUCHER tokens are the limiting factor that will decide how valuable the booster packs end up being at presale.

Within the next two week you can probably expect to see a major price spike again in SPS token as even more supply is locked up for staking and as speculators begin trading it. Dark Energy Crystal demand is only growing by the day even with the volatility it is facing I expect the price to continue pressing forward until we are at least 2 or 3 cents.
