Elven Cutthroat Macrame Wall Hanging / Splinterlands Art Contest Week 275
Saludos querida comunidad, estoy muy feliz de poder compartir con ustedes mi primera participación del año en el Splinterlands Art Contest, en esta oportunidad hice un colgante de pared con la técnica de macramé del personaje Elven Cutthroat, los cuales viven el los bosques de Splinterlands, son habitantes en los árboles y bajan con frecuencia, son hábiles en el uso de los cuchillos y poseen gran variedad de estos. Greetings dear community, I am very happy to be able to share with you my first participation of the year in the Splinterlands Art Contest, on this occasion I made a wall hanging with the macramé technique of the character Elven Cutthroat, who lives in the forests of Splinterlands, They live in trees and come down frequently, they are skilled in the use of knives and have a wide variety of them. I hope you like it.
Proceso / Process
Para comenzar el proceso lo primero es recortar la imagen del personaje de forma rectangular, de este modo hago el patrón y selecciono de colores de hilo a utilizar, yo utilizo hilo acrílico de 1mm, en este caso usé 6 tonos de amarillo, 2 tonos de beige, 3 tonos de verde,2 tonos de gris, 2 tonos de azul, 2 tonos de marrón, rosado, rojo, blanco y negro, en total 21 hilos de diferentes colores.
To begin the process, the first thing is to cut out the image of the character in a rectangular shape, in this way I make the pattern and select the colors of thread to use, I use 1mm acrylic thread, in this case I used 6 shades of yellow, 2 shades of beige, 3 shades of green, 2 shades of gray, 2 shades of blue, 2 shades of brown, pink, red, white and black, in total 21 threads of different colors.
Corté 18 hebras de 48 cm de hilo rosado, las anudé a un palito de plástico, de este modo quedan 36 hilos guía, sujeté el palito a la tabla con unas pinzas para ropa.
I cut 18 strands of 48 cm of pink thread, tied them to a plastic stick, this way there are 36 guide threads, I attached the stick to the board with some clothespins.
Agregué el hilo rosado para los nudos de fondo, en esta técnica se trabaja por hileras de nudos, es decir que el hilo que anuda envuelve dos veces a los hilos guía, se van agregando los hilos de colores y se cruzan por detrás.
I added the pink thread for the background knots, in this technique you work in rows of knots, that is, the knotting thread wraps around the guide threads twice, the colored threads are added and they cross behind.
Como pueden ver la imagen se va construyendo con los nudos, como si cada nudo fuese un pixel de la imagen. En total este trabajo tiene 80 hileras de 36 nudos.
As you can see, the image is built with the knots, as if each knot were a pixel of the image. In total this work has 80 rows of 36 knots.
Para finalizar agrupé en 4 partes los 36 hilos guía y con una hebra azul hice un nudo, corte el exceso de hilo para formar flecos. Con 6 hebras de 24 cm de hilo rosado hice una tranza para anudar el palito y hacer el colgante de pared.
To finish, I grouped the 36 guide threads into 4 parts and tied a knot with a blue thread. Cut the excess thread to form fringes. With 6 strands of 24 cm of pink thread I made a braid to tie the stick and make the wall hanging.
Resultado / Result
A mi me gusto mucho hacer este personaje debido a su complejidad y cantidad de colores en diferentes tonos, para mi fue un reto personal y estoy satisfecha, me tomo 4 tardes enteras hacerlo así que espero les guste 🥰
I really liked making this character due to its complexity and amount of colors in different tones, for me it was a personal challenge and I am satisfied, it took me 4 whole afternoons to do it so I hope you like it 🥰

Yo sigo tratando de entender en mi cabeza cómo es que ocurre esto. Para mi es mágico. Tu dices que cada nudo es como un pixel en la imagen, pero cambiar el color con tanta precisión e ir construyendo la imagen punto por punto, es algo que en mi opinión, es asombroso.
Muchismas gracias, todo es la práctica, uno empieza con pocos colores y puede hacer cosas increíbles, lo que pasa es que me gustan los retos y por eso uso muchos tonos. Saludos 😊
