Splinterlands Pack Opening (with Giveaway) #2 "A RARE Occurrence"

I didn't want to keep you guys waiting, so before the General Sale starts, I'll another, and have quite a few more planned! Every pack I open, at least 1 card will be given away!

Let's check out the 2nd Pack opening:

image.png

Double Rares, and more importantly, quite solid rares for their Splinters! IMO Pelacor Arbalest and Cursed Windeku are the best rares of their splinters, at least, for the CL Meta and for the CL summoners. I am super excited to build up a Cursed Windeku to his Gold Level, where he gains Heal. Pelacor Arbalest, tbh I really just want to get a few more Hit Points on him because he is SQUISHY

As usual, you can scroll down to skip all this tips and tricks stuff.

Card Tips & Tricks

Pelacor Arbalest

Normal Foil, Rare, Life Monster

As I said before, he's not my favorite Life Cards from CL, but he's one of the best Rares of the party, though, Time Mage gives Pelacor a run for his money when you start to talk about the Wild Meta and the Untamed Meta, and not just CL alone.

I love to pair Truthspeaker and Chaos Knight with him, Let's be real, Pelacor is squishy and needs some armor to survive. I also almost exclusively use Pelacor Arbalest with General Sloan. If I really don't expect magic, or if I think they're going mostly melee/range, I'll use Scavo Hireling as well. He is particularly powerful in No Sneak/Snipe and Lost Magic, where his armor gives him good survivability and he can avoid painful snipe and sneak enemies. He's also amazing in Equalizer

I don't recommend him in No Armor and in No Range rulesets.

Kulu Swimhunter

Normal Foil, Common, Water Monster

I'm not gunna lie, this was one of my favorite cards when I saw the art; His stats... not so much. As an ability-less card, he really doesn't have much of an edge over previous cards. If anything, he is a niche ranged choice for Little League and not much else beyond that. I would've loved a Slow or a Blind ability... at least?

I don't use Kulu much, but when I do use it, it's with Kelya and it's in either Close Ranged, Little League or in Snipe Rulesets.

I don't recommend it in Armored Up or Poison rulesets. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I don't really like Kulu in any rulesets beyond what's mentioned above.

Cursed Windeku

Normal Foil, Rare, Death Monster

The Thorny Tank of Death, move over Giant Scorpion; it's unfortunate but Windeku has got you beat in most situations.

I use Windeku in almost all situations; there are like 3 situations where I don't use him: When mana doesn't allow, and a Level 5 Giant Scorpion is being used with my Kretch. OR I'm 90% sure it's magic spam, and I am playing Bone Golem, who will likely fail me anyways so sometimes I just use Windeku anyways. Windeku is powerful in Melee Only, Super Sneak, and No Sneak/Snipe

I don't recommend Cursed Windeku in Earthquake, where Harklaw is a better option, or in against Mylor comps, who will eat through him just as fast, if not faster.

Gargoya Scrapper

Normal Foil, Common, Life Monster

Gargoya Scrapper can be a really interesting play imo especially in Low Mana Life in Wild, where you could create cheeky plays with Gargoya Scrapper and Crystal Werewolf. Ultimately, its 1 Mana cost makes it highly usable in almost all situations, regardless. Although Chaos Agent is oftentimes the better choice.

Like the other 1 Mana cards: He's a much better choice with a Gold Foil, to get bonus DEC easily and consistently in nearly any battle. Gargoya Scrapper is a decent choice against low mana Magic, especially if you have access to a card with Silence. He's also a decent option in Equalizer, Super Sneak, Melee From Anywhere, and Opportunity

I do NOT recommend him in Lost Magic or Snipe

image.png

Supply Runner

Normal Foil, Common, Neutral Monster

Let me sell you on Supply Runner: He's not much of a card until you hit Level 5 where he gains Swiftness, at which point he's a speed boosting Mantoid that attacks the frontline, instead of sniping. This card is especially powerful with Byzantine Kitty, Kelya, and Pyre. I would use this card in Equalizer, Close Ranged, and Earthquake (Specifically with Brighton Bloom)

I do NOT recommend Supply Runner in Reverse Speed or Snipe, mostly because Snipe will allow Supply Runner to quickly be picked off. Unless of course you have a better defense/offense!

Giveaway Time!

Let's giveaway 2 of these guys, I'll always giveaway a 1 Mana card if I receive one, it's my hope that this will create opportunities for players to collect a few and begin to upgrade and see their value; that being said, if you like them go for a Gold Foil!

So 2 Cards for 2 Different Players!

Upvotes, Follows, and Tips are OPTIONAL, you do NOT need to do this, but they are always always appreciated!
