Splinterlands Art Contest | PIT OGRE
Hello everyone, I wanted to enter this contest since I used to enjoy drawing fanart and own characters when I was a youngster. Ogre has been in every mmorpg games and isekai genre animes; I'm curious how Pit Ogre would seem if I sketched him with slightly different tastes.
Pit Ogre has a more bulkier build and more detailed facial characteristics in my version, and his shackles are removed from his legs. I also included the lava and molten background behind him for added creepiness, as we all know ogres are quite frightening and massive. I believe I drew the club significantly differently as well; by the looks of it, my style on this one was a bit anime version. Anyway, I'm going to provide the references as well as the drawing process.

1.) I started with sketching a rough lineart that would serve as my line reference throughout the artwork.
Drawing Process
2.) I then sketched the foundation lineart for Pit Ogre's face, then used the same color for the skin and placed a layer behind the lineart to avoid overlapping the lines. Then I detailed the face with colors that were almost identical to the original design but with a new taste, such as adding brows and a different eye design from the reference.
3.) The third step would be to create the lineart for the body part and color the skin; I also rendered the skin a little.
4.) For the fourth phase, I draw the shackles on his neck and then the hairy portion on his chest and arms, then I cover the arms with shackles like in the reference. I gently render the entire body once more.
5.) I used the same purple color for the garments while designing and coloring the body. As I already stated, I removed the shackles from his legs and drew them on the ground. I also drew the club he's wielding in his left hand; Pit Ogre appears to be a lefty, huh?
6.) The sixth phase is the rendering process, in which I add shadings and highlights to the entire subject. I haven't perfected the correct positions of the shadows and highlights yet.
7.) Now I've added the backdrop, but first I hide all the layers so that I can draw the background without being distracted by the subject.
8.) Finally, I'm simply putting final touches and slightly adjusting the backdrops, as well as slightly shifting Pit Ogre's position to the left.
Woahh. Nice work. I like the pose. 😊
