Splinterlands Art Contest │Djinn Muirat

Saludos, comunidad. Hoy estoy de nuevo por acá para compartirles mi participación en el Splinterlands Art Contest. La verdad estoy contento por los resultados que obtuve con este dibujo. Luego de buscar entre la infinidad de cartas que hay para escoger, elegí a Djinn Muirat, hijo de la muerte y la oscuridad, según algunos relatos.

Greetings, community. Today I'm here again to share with you my participation in the Splinterlands Art Contest. I'm really happy for the results I got with this drawing. After searching among the infinite number of cards to choose from, I chose Djinn Muirat, son of death and darkness, according to some stories.

Me gustó la historia de este personaje. Voy a compartirles un fragmento de lo que dice en la wiki.

"El Djinn gobierna en las profundidades de Mortis, sentado en un trono de calaveras dentro de su hogar, el Palacio de Hueso. Tiene cientos de sirvientes bajo su mando, e incluso más personas bajo su influencia.

A lo largo de los siglos, muchos han tratado de reclamar el Palacio de Hueso para sí mismos. Porque dentro se encuentran tesoros antiguos, poderosos pergaminos de hechizos y secretos enterrados durante mucho tiempo. Djinn Muriat repele a cada uno. El más poderoso que lo intentó fue el gran dragón serpiente Gamadan the Earthquake. Se deslizó hasta el interior del palacio, consumiendo a todos los soldados de Djinn Muriat que estaban frente a él, hasta que llegó a la sala del trono. I liked the story of this character. I'm going to share with you a fragment of what it says in the wiki.

"The Djinn rules deep underneath Mortis, seated on a throne of skulls within his home, the Palace of Bone. He has hundreds of servants in his command, and even more people under his influence.

Through centuries many have tried to claim the Palace of Bone for themselves. For within lies ancient treasures, powerful spell scrolls, and long-buried secrets. Djinn Muriat repels each one. The most powerful to have tried was the great serpent dragon Gamadan the Earthquake. It slithered its way into the palace, consuming all of Djinn Muriat's soldiers that stood before it, until it came to the throne room itself. Djinn Muriat killed it in a single blow, and now has its skull mounted above his throne." Source.

Tras leer su historia se me ocurrió hacer este personaje parado sobre la cabeza del dragón, pero luego vi que sus piernas están cubiertas por sombras, extrañamente verdes, como dice en la wiki, así que intenté hacerlo de otra forma: más delgado, con el cabello un poco más largo y la flama en una sola mano. Después coloqué el dragón detrás, como si acabara de matarlo. Busqué información sobre el dragón, pero no lo encontré, así que lo dibujé como si fuera una sombra. Se supone que es un dragón serpiente, sin embargo, le dibujé cuernos, aunque no sé si esto aplica solo para otro tipo de dragones.

After reading his story it occurred to me to make this character standing on the dragon's head, but then I saw that his legs are covered by shadows, strangely green, as it says in the wiki, so I tried to make him in another way: thinner, with hair a little longer and the flame in one hand. Then I placed the dragon behind, as if I had just killed it. I looked for information about the dragon, but I couldn't find it, so I drew it as if it were a shadow. It is supposed to be a snake dragon, however, I drew horns, although I don't know if this applies only to other types of dragons.

Al finalizar el boceto, me di cuenta que la mano había quedado pequeña y la arreglé en photoshop. Luego empecé a colorear cada parte del personaje. Esto fue lo que me llevó más tiempo, porque lo hago con el ratón de la computadora.

When I finished the sketch, I realized that the hand was too small and I fixed it in photoshop. Then I started to color each part of the character. This is what took me the longest, because I do it with the computer mouse.

Cuando terminé de colorear, me enfoqué en hacer el brillo de la flama con forma de calavera y vi que los contornos del boceto original serían un problema, así que pasé a colorear cada línea de acuerdo con el color de la parte que cubren. Este proceso también me llevó algo de tiempo, pero el resultado me gustó.

When I finished coloring, I focused on making the skull-shaped flame glow and saw that the outlines of the original sketch would be a problem, so I went on to color each line according to the color of the part they cover. This process also took me some time, but I liked the result.

Luego realicé el sombreado completo del dibujo, intentando no pasar por alto ningún detalle, atendiendo a las exigencias del mismo, como si la luz viniera de arriba del personaje.

Then I made the complete shading of the drawing, trying not to overlook any detail, attending to the requirements of the drawing, as if the light was coming from above the character.

Por último, no terminaba de convencerme el fondo que había colocado y lo cambié. Agregué un tono rojo por debajo del dragón muerto, como si fuera sangre, y di por finalizado el trabajo. El dibujo lo realicé ayer en la tarde y hoy en la mañana empecé con todo el proceso que acabo de contarles. Me tomó entre seis y siete horas realizarlo. No es perfecto, pero me gustó el resultado. Ha sido un reto interesante y disfruté bastante en el proceso. Espero que les haya gustado.

Finally, I wasn't convinced by the background I had placed and I changed it. I added a red tone underneath the dead dragon, as if it were blood, and I finished the work. I made the drawing yesterday afternoon and today in the morning I started with the whole process I just told you about. It took me six to seven hours to complete. It's not perfect, but I liked the result. It has been an interesting challenge and I enjoyed the process quite a bit. I hope you liked it.
