Battle Mage Secrets, Weekly Challenge, Lost Legendaries!

Have to love the image for this fight, it was fire only and the Secret this week is all about the fire! Now, not having Legendary monsters in a battle can change things a lot, what is the power of your not so rare monsters? Can you put together a good strategy without the overpoweredness of the Legendary monsters? Well if you can you can win, so let’s look at some strategies for this one!

As stated above, no super rare monsters on this one, let’s see what happens when you have the lower monsters, who usually cost less as well!

The battle that we are examining for this one is a mid-level mana cap at 37 plus:

Born Again: All Monsters have the Rebirth ability.
Lost Legendaries: Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles

The other weird thing about this fight, only fire is allowed, that is all, that can change the fight a lot due to only having one mana, no legendary monsters, plus rebirth, so people who die will be coming back to haunt again!

First up, the Summoner:

Since this is fire only, I kind of need the fire summoner, in steps Tarsa, who I do really like, the whole adding to the health and adding to the melee damage, means that she keeps the monsters around for a little longer, so this is my main goal on this one, knock them down with some melee attacks.

The front line was the Ferox Defender

A good soulbound card on this one, increasing the shields was very helpful, and something that I needed, put him up front so that my other monsters can take things down quickly.

I love this reward card, placed here for strategic reasons, the 3 ranged damage is always great on this one, but the 6 shield is important as well, then close range also means that when the Defender dies it can step into the front and do well.

Next up, starting the strategy:

This one is in town for the sneak attack, 2 melee damage is a great thing to have and hitting that backline is important!

This one is here to sneak around a little bit with the magic damage, helps to knock health down around the shields incase they have a lot of shields, this can help a lot.

The next part of the strategy is up with the Serpentine Spy

I do need to upgrade this card at some point, but the opportunity attack means it will be hitting the opposing monster with the lowest health, really helps with that rebirth ruleset.

Lastly:

One of my favorites in Fire for the Chaos Legion set, decent speed, decent melee damage, good health, all important things that is needed, put this one in the back so that he can absorb some hits, hopefully dodge a little, while knocking them down.

My initial thoughts on this one is to have lot’s of melee attacks, using sneak and opportunity to snipe at the other people on this one, take them down quickly from the back or the middle, hopefully it will work well enough. Meanwhile, I have a couple of monsters up front that have a lot of armor to keep them in the fight longer.

The enemy on this one was looking at magic damage to get through my shields along with using the Disintegrator to knock down my melee damage, a smart thing since there is a good chance that Tarsa will be there, another strong strategy to use.

This was a close fight for me on this one, them knocking down that magic damage upfront makes things a little difficult. However, the sneak attacks really took down them from the back, however, that magic damage that they were dishing out, hurt, a lot, and is one of the reasons why this became so close of a fight. I will take this win though!

Things to keep in mind with the Lost Legendaries ruleset:

• Look for synergy with abilities
• The summoner is important, you can still use Legendary Summoners
• Keeping people in the fight is important, armor, heal, other abilities do help
• Understand the other rules for your advantage
