Battle Mage Secrets, Weekly Challenge, Noxious Fumes

For the most part this battle has a build in timer as to how fast people are going to die, which is pretty quick in this case. Let’s see what the timer is:

Just as it says, Poison, a nasty thing to deal with, but what this means is that all the monsters will be going down in health, quickly, 2 per round actually, unless you make some changes to the tables.
The battle that we are examining for this one is a mid-level mana cap at 38 plus:
Noxious Fumes: All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.
Straight up fight, just with a timer involved, pretty easy!
Here is the quick link to the battle, from the Silver Wild league: (Link) however, I will break it down, then you might want to watch again.
The opening shot:

First up, the Summoner:
Speed is what I was looking for on this one, increase that and it helps, but also the shield, means I will be sticking around a little longer, which is a great thing! Then a couple of water abilities were to my liking.
The front line was the Djinn Oshannus:
Many times, when I am running Water I use Oshannus up front because of the high health and the speed, which is great, but having Void, where it reduces magic attacks, along with Phase, which means that magic attacks can miss him, it creates a powerful tank. Also, with some abilities from the next monster, means he will stick around for awhile.
The card of the hour is very important here:
The cleanse is huge on this one, allowing my tank not to take the poison damage, means Oshannus is around longer.
Next up:
A booster card here, knowing that poison is here, this monster will die by round 2, just due to the fumes, but at the same time a double boost to the monsters around it, which is important.
I really do like Nerissa, 3 magic damage and high health, yeah, a solid card to bring to the table. Especially with the boost when one dies.
Next is a filler card:
I do like this card, it is cheap at 2, it will only last a few rounds but, that is okay, it might get a hit in.
Lastly, the next part of the strategy:
Knowing my people are going to be taking damage and dying quickly, I wanted to use taunt here to direct their damage to one monster so that the others stay alive longer, doing more damage.
My initial thoughts on this one is to have the fast void and phase up front with Oshannus, then cleanse the poison off of them followed by having that taunt in the back to take the damage while other monsters are there. Then I am looking at the Marksrat to die round 2, and it should give a boost to osshanus and to Nerissa, giving more damage and giving them another round to survive, hopefully.
The enemy went water as well with a similar thought, only with armor repair and healing instead of the damage that I went for, hopefully I will be around long enough to appreciate the win!
A whole lot of monsters died round 2, but that worked out for me, giving the boost to Nerissa and Oshannus allowed me to take them out quickly after that! A solid win for me.
Things to keep in mind with the Noxious Fumes ruleset:
• Cleanse, can’t say it enough, it takes away the poison condition
• Heals are also really good, tank heal, and self heal, keeps them in the fight longer
• Quickness and health boost really help to keep them in the fight longer
• Another great ability, immunity, they can’t be poisoned, also helpful
