Battle Mage Secrets, Weekly Challenge, Odd Ones Out

Another fire summoner on this one, here to knock things down quickly and enjoy some good times! Anyway, have you ever felt left out, well this is the week for you with being a little “odd”…

Granted, I know I am odd, but this week it does singles us out a little bit, but taking away half the monsters, yeah, that changes things a lot for the fights!

The battle that we are examining for this one is a higher-level mana cap at 49 plus:

Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
Odd Ones Out: Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

This is a crazy one, making melee very popular since it can strike from anywhere, but then throwing in the odds means it changes a lot.

The opening shot:

First up, the Summoner:

I do like the art on this one, he looks like a beast! But, having that extra shield does help a lot, then add in the ability to throw in a gladiator, yeah, that is what I am talking about!

The front line was the Imperial Knight:

Have to say something about those imperials, they know how to train some defenders! This one, I want to stay in the fight for awhile, so he is here because he will have 7 shields, but then, throw in the 9 health, it is good, but now, give it some healing and some magic protection, yeah, a very solid tank!

Another important card:

Melee from anywhere, 5 damage, solid, but throw in that enrage, speed and power increase, but having the retaliate, means he will be hitting back at most melees that decide to attack.

Next up:

I do like this card, but the reason it is here, high health, but flight means they might miss, decent speed, but the shatter ability, let’s take out those shields quickly so my guys can hit them hard!

Next up:

Knowing he will die, opportunity will help him out, but having the martyr ability, will boost the next card, which is important.

Next is part of the strategy.

A gladiator with snipe, yeah, this one is here to take out the support characters that I think they will have, important, she also has bloodlust, meaning, she gets more powerful!

Lastly, the next part of the strategy:

I do like this monster, the art looks like you are getting a hand up, and it works so well with the Strengthen ability, giving that extra health all the way down the line means my people live longer!

My initial thoughts on this one is having people stay alive with the strengthen, take out the support characters with the snipe ability and use shatter to knockdown those shields, important things, then using magic to sneak under that armor.

The enemy went dragon life on this one, lots of heavy hitters with it, it does not look good for me, hopefully shatter can come into play very well for me.

Retaliate and bloodlust just had me winning this one pretty quickly, it was a good win!

Things to keep in mind with the Odd Ones Out ruleset:
• Look for synergy in the abilities
• Keep monsters in the fight longer
• Try some weird combinations at times, it might just work!
