Time for another "Weekly Battle Challenge"!

The subject of this week is the Gargoya Scrapper.

11.png

1 ) Mana cost: 1 Nice Mana cost, considering the base stats.

2 ) Melee Attack: 1 Lowest Melee Attack possible, could be useless versus Monsters with the Shield ability, but dealing damage is not the Gargoya Scrapper's job.

3 ) Speed: 2 Considering the low Mana cost, it is a nice stat.

4 ) Expansion: Chaos Legion I highlighted that because in the near future the Expansion of a card will be essential to know if it is playable in the Modern format or in the Wild format (MF: playable only in the last two Expansions that came out on Splinterlands, WF: every Expansion is playable).

5 ) Health: 2 As for the Speed stat, it is a nice value considering the Mana cost.

6 ) Element: Light It means that it can be used only with Light and Dragon Summoners.

Please Note: the Gargoya Scrapper has no Armor and no Ability.

oneup2.png

It is important to be clear about the Gargoya Scrapper, it starts to be "important" and really useful (even if situational) when it reaches Level 3 and it learns the Void ability.

Unfortunately, I actually don't own a Level 2 Light Summoner (yet) and I can't use it even if I level it up, so I analyzed its strengths and weaknesses considering its base level and stats, selecting the Rules of Combat where it could be useful.

rules.png

As you can see, the Gargoya Scrapper can be useful in battles where it can work as bait or where the Rules give it a useful ability for a Melee Attack Monster.

oneup2.png

The introduction to the Gargoya Scrapper is over, let's see how I used it in battle:

prebattle.png

Rules Of Combat: Positive Considering that one of the strengths of a Light Deck is the durability of the Monsters, thanks to the Armor bonuses and Health bonuses, having the "Silenced Summoners" rule of combat makes the eventuality of facing an Earth Deck and its powerful Magic Attack boost less "scaring".

Mana Cap: Positive It's a nice Mana cap, it allows me to use the strategy I have in my mind.

Active Elements: Positive Especially thanks to the Rule of Combat.

Summoner: Mother Khala Unfortunately to use my strategy I had to use a non-owned Summoner, losing precious Focus Points in case I won. But the +1 bonus in Health and the lower Mana cost compared to the General Sloan convinced me to sacrifice some FPs to try to win.

Focus: Fire I will not receive Focus Points if I win, but I will have (as in the last Weekly Battle Challenge) an important surprise effect, and some juicy Season Points.

The Strategy: Considering my last 5 battles where I used a Fire Deck, considering my Opponent's last 5 battles where they only used a Fire Deck, and considering the Rule of Combat not really favorable for an Earth Magic Deck, I decided to try to surprise my Opponent by choosing Monsters with Magic Attack to deal damages (and ignore the Armor) and cards to stall and slow down the powerful Fire Melee Attackers covering my damage dealers.

So, to follow the strategy I chose a really annoying Tank to be faced by a Fire Deck:

pelacor conjurer.png

I have to remind you that my Pelacor Conjurer was capped at level 1, so it has 1 less in Speed and Health Stat, but it is important to consider how the Speed/Flying misses work (especially versus a Fire Deck that is usually made using slow monsters):

speed.png

After the Tank, I deployed another annoying card:

time mage.png

The Time Mage is an amazing card, always useful in a Deck (except with specific Rules of Combat, click here for better analysis).

In the third position I placed another important "support":

truthspeaker.png

The Truthspeaker thanks to its ability Protect which grants a +2 bonus in Armor to all friendly Monsters is an authentic nightmare to be fought by a Physical Damage Deck.

Then I deployed an Epic Reward card, that I personally appreciate and that I think can be really useful in situations like this battle:

djinn renova.png

The Djinn Renova grants a nice Magic Attack and a nice Health Bonus thanks to its ability Strengthen.

The last damage dealer that I added is a card that is not really famous or used much:

temporal master.png

The Temporal Master with its ability Recharge can be considered a nice damage dealer because it can deal 3 Magic Damages for 3 Mana-cost...but it attacks only every 2 turns, so it could be useless in case the battle is quick or it is not well protected. In this battle I think it was a great choice.

And, in the last spot, I placed the protagonist of this week and a perfect bait:

gargoya scrapper lvl1.png

Ready to take all the damages from the Monsters with the Sneak ability.

Time for the battle (link):

bat1.png

The Opponent thought exactly what I expected, preparing their Deck to counter a Physical Damage Deck deploying a Tank with the Shield ability and a nice Armor.

bat2.png

The Gargoya Scrapper did a good job, taking damage and distracting the Opponent's Monsters.

bat3.png

The damage dealers and the Tank survived. I won thanks to the Magic Attackers and the supports.

bat4.png

Final Consideration:

The Gargoya Scrapper is a low Mana cost card, useful as a bait or as a cheap Tank.

Schermata 20220610 alle 16.59.47.png

Leveling up it becomes an interesting card, especially thanks to the Void ability which makes it resistant to the Magic Attacks.

Best Regards,
Magalli

They literally have attempted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem if you run into one of them you may want to immediately shoot them in the face. Thanks for sprucing up the CONS section this time around! I got a better sense of why you chose each monster and what aspect of them you found valuable :)
