Splinterlands Fan Art | Xia Seachan 🌊

Good evening, my dear readers in the artistic community! Happy Wednesday and happy midweek to everyone who’s here reading this post. It’s your friend Manuel here again, thrilled to share a new piece of art with you on my blog. This time, I’m bringing you a fan art piece focused on the game from my dear friends in the #Splinterlands community—one of the most popular games within our beloved #Hive ecosystem—which I wasn’t able to finish until today due to work commitments; Anyway, the character I decided to choose this time was the card of (Xia Seachan), which references Talia, the eldest of the two daughters of the famous summoner couple Aggroedius Lightbringer (Fragment of Life) and Lyanna Natura (Fragment of Earth). About a decade ago, the two found an abandoned dragon egg while traveling through Draykh-Nahka. They incubated the egg, and once it hatched, they raised the young fire dragon Talia as their own and trained her to be a summoner… I hope you really like my idea, and here I’ll share the process so you can appreciate it even more.

Muy buenas noches mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística, feliz miércoles y feliz mitad de semana para todos los que se encuentran por aquí leyéndome en esta ocasión, por aquí los saluda una vez mas su amigo Manuel, super feliz de poder compartirles una nueva creación artística para mi blog. En esta oportunidad las traigo una representación o fan art enfocado en el juego de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Splinterlands, el cual es de los juegos mas populares dentro de nuestro querido ecosistema de #hive, y en la cual no pude terminar hasta hoy por cuestiones de trabajo; en fin, el personaje que decidí elegir en esta ocasión fue la carta de (Xia Seachan), la cual hace referencia a Talia, la cual es la mayor de las dos hijas de la famosa pareja de invocadores Aggroedius Lightbringer (Fragmento de Vida) y Lyanna Natura (Fragmento de Tierra). Hace aproximadamente una década, ambos encontraron un huevo de dragón abandonado mientras viajaban por Draykh-Nahka. Incubaron el huevo y, una vez que eclosionó, criaron a la joven dragona de fuego Talia como si fuera suya y la formaron como invocadora… espero les guste mucho mi idea y aquí les dejare el proceso para que lo aprecien mucho mejor.

PROCESS / PROCESO

I began the piece by working on the main character’s pose and posture. In this case, I opted for a composition in which her hands were slightly raised, since this creature has the ability to manipulate water. Of course, I tried to maintain the creature’s main features and characteristics as described in the brief, while adapting them slightly to my own illustration style. Once I had finished the sketch, I moved on to the painting process. In this case, I started with a color palette consisting of dark blue tones to gradually define the highlights, shadows, and, ultimately, the entire volume of the body.

Empecé la obra trabajando un poco la pose y postura del personaje principal, en este caso opte por una estructura en la cual sus manos estuviesen levemente elevadas, ya que esta criatura tiene la habilidad de manipular el elemento agua, y por supuesto trate de mantener los rasgos y características principales de la criatura dentro de la carta, pero amoldándola un poco a mi estilo propio de ilustración. Ya una vez había concluido con el boceto continúe con el proceso de boceto continúe con el proceso de pintado, en este caso empecé con una paleta de colores conformada por tonos azules oscuros para ir definiendo de a poco las luces, sombras, en fin, toda la estructura de volumen de su cuerpo.

In the second stage, I used slightly lighter shades of blue for the front section that runs from the middle of the lip down vertically across the chest to just below the torso. Here, I worked on the details of volume and relief with my airbrush to achieve a texture slightly different from the rest of the skin. For the eyes, I started by applying a base of light grays, and then, using medium to dark reds, I created details such as the iris with certain circular highlights, as well as the pupils, for which I used darker reds and slightly longer strokes; then, for the mouth area, I used slightly darker purple and gray tones to form what would be the fangs.

En la 2da etapa utilice unos tonos azules un poco mas claros para la parte frontal que va desde la mitad del labio y baja verticalmente por su pecho hasta debajo de su torso, en este caso trabaje los detalles de volumen y relieve con mi pincel aerógrafo para lograr una textura un poco diferente a lo demás de la piel. Para el trabajo de los ojos empecé aplicando una base de grises claros, y luego con tonos rojos de intermedio a oscuro fui creando los detalles como el iris con ciertos brillos circulares, así como también las pupilas para las cuales use rojos mas oscuros y trazos un poco mas alargados; luego para la parte de la boca use tonos morados un poco mas oscuros y grises para formar lo que serían los colmillos.

As for the clothing, I used shades of yellow as a base to start building the creature’s outfit. In this case, I used a brush with a slightly rough texture as the base, and then, using watercolor, I added details such as folds and wrinkles to give a more realistic look to the blouse-like garment the character would wear on her torso. Then, using purple tones, I created the details and complementary accessories that Talia wears around her neck, forearms, and waist; in this case, I worked with hard brushes to achieve a texture similar to metal. Next, using red tones, I painted the gems embedded across the surface of these garments, as well as a large red gem right on her forehead.

Con respecto a la vestimenta use tonos amarillos como base para comenzar a construir el atuendo de la criatura, en este caso use pincel de textura un poco rugosa como base, y luego con el acuarela fui formando detalles como pliegues y arrugas que le dieran un mejor realismo a la especie de blusa que llevaría el personaje en su torso. Luego con tonos morados fui creando lo que serian los detalles y accesorios complementarios que llega Talia alrededor de cuello, antebrazos y cintura, en este caso trabaje con pinceles duros para lograr una textura similar al metal; luego con tonos rojos fui formando lo que serian las gemas incrustadas en toda la superficie de estas prendas, así como una gran gema roja justo en la frente.
