Hello aliens community, today I could take some time to share with all of you my participation to the weekly art contest of @splinterlands. For this occasion I wanted to make my own "kawaii" version of the character Merdhampir, this was a great reference in terms of the concept and colours that this has and to represent it I chose to make a kind of deformed creature that meets the elements and theme of the original character, without more to say I hope you like this interpretation of the character.

Hola comunidad de aliens, el día de hoy pude sacar algo de tiempo para compartir con todos ustedes mi participación al concurso de arte semanal de @splinterlands. Para esta ocasión quise realizar mi propia versión "kawaii" del personaje Merdhampir, este se me hizo una gran referencia en cuanto al concepto y colores que este posee y para representarlo opte por realizar una especie de criatura deforme que cumpliera con los elementos y temática del personaje original, sin más que decir espero les guste está interpretación del personaje.

I started making a sketch with the main idea I had in mind, then with a blue pencil I began to order and clean the sketch little by little, starting with the character which being simple I simply played with some basic figures to compose it in its entirety, once I had the character I wanted to place it in a certain way inside a bottle which would be another character within the composition. Little by little I added extra details such as the shape of the water, some bubbles and the character's weapon which would be another mini character in the illustration. Once I had my sketch ready and clean enough I started to apply the inking or lineart, for this I used the same line thickness in almost all the elements except for some smaller details of the illustration in which I applied a little less thickness in order not to overload the elements too much.

Comencé realizando un boceto con la idea principal que tenía en mente, posteriormente con un lápiz de color azul comencé a ordenar y limpiar el boceto poco a poco, comenzando por el personaje el cual al ser sencillo simplemente fui jugando con algunas figuras básicas para componerlo en su totalidad, una vez tenia al personaje quise de cierto modo ubicarlo dentro de una botella la cual seria otro personaje dentro de la composición. Poco a poco fui agregando detalles extras como la forma del agua, algunas burbujas y el arma del personaje la cual sería otro mini personaje dentro de la ilustración. Una vez tenia mi boceto listo y lo suficientemente limpio comencé a aplicar el entintado o lineart, para este utilice un mismo grosor de línea en casi todos los elementos a excepción de algunos detalles mas pequeños de la ilustración en la cual aplique un grosor un poco menor para no sobrecargar mucho los elementos.

Once the sketch was finished I started to apply the base colours, being an aquatic character I wanted to play with some shades of blue for both the character and the water bottle, therefore, I used 4 base shades of blue, the darkest for the character and the lightest for the water. To generate the shadows I used a violet colour with low/medium opacity which allowed me to give the shadows to all the elements of the illustration.

Terminado el boceto comencé a aplicar los colores base, al tratarse de un personaje acuático quise jugar con algunos tonos de color azul tanto para el personaje como para la botella de agua, por ende, utilice 4 tonos base de color azul, los mas oscuros para el personaje y los mas claros para el agua. Para generar las sombras utilice un color violeta con baja/media opacidad el cual me permitió darle las sombras a todos los elementos de la ilustración.

To finish I applied some light to the illustration, I added some extra bubbles as well as the glitter of the water, eyes and bigger bubbles. Finally to give volume to the bottle I added two levels of light and I also coloured the lines of the lineart that were inside the water as I was really bothered by the black line in the background. Once finished the colouring of all the elements to complete this illustration I put a dark blue background to which later I added a small colour gradient.

Para terminar apliqué un poco de luz a la ilustración, fui agregando algunas burbujas extras así como los brillos del agua, ojos y burbujas mas grandes. Finalmente para darle volumen a la botella le coloque dos niveles de luz y también le día color a las líneas del lineart que estaban dentro del agua ya que realmente me molestaba la línea de color negro en el fondo. Una vez terminado el coloreado de todos los elementos para completar esta ilustración le coloque un fondo de color azul oscuro al cual posteriormente le agregue un pequeño degrade de color.
