This week’s battle challenge focuses on the Dragons, so I decided to focus on Quix the Devious.

A Chaos Legion edition legendary level summoner from the Dragons unit at level 2:

  • Estimated cost: $58.499
  • Debuff abilities - -1 range and -1 speed to all opposition monsters.

Every so often, we are presented with a Dragons weekly battle challenge, whereby the player can choose any Dragon unit monster or summoner to write about. These have been some of the most fun battle challenges to write about, as I enjoy the Dragon unit monsters and summoners. The Dragon unit offers so much versatility across modern and wild battle formats. For this week, I have chosen the Choas Legion legendary Dragon unit summoner – Quix the Devious. At the cost of four mana, you gain two fantastic debuffs – a decrease in range damage and speed, which can help counter against those overpowered Yodin Zaku teams. More importantly, it allows you to play higher-leveled cards than rare summoners.

It's always going to be a toss-up whether to play a legendary summoner that costs extra mana in a low mana-cost battle, but with the two debuffs that Quix the Devious has, I think it's worth it. And I doubled down by going with a full-range monster backline with only Chaos Agent serving as the meat shield in position 1. Luckily for me, Quix's debuffs could counter the opposition of Soul Strangler. A satisfying victory.

Do you like the Quix the Devious? Why or why not?

Short and simple – yes. A legendary Dragon summoner will provide long-term utility and versatility to my splinterlands collection. Some may say it's expensive, but it's cheap when you compare it to other Dragon unit summoners with two debuffs/buffs.
