Card Details

A Chaos Legion edition epic level monster from the Earth unit at level 2:

  • Estimated cost: $6.172
  • Melee attack: 3
  • Speed: 3
  • Health: 11
  • Double Strike ability - Monster attacks twice each round.

Grund is a fierce and determined warrior hailing from the lowlands of Praetoria. Raised with a strong sense of honor and justice, he is a defender of the land and its people. Grund's dual-wielding skills, combined with his Double Strike ability, make him a decent monster in battle. With his powerful melee attack, decent speed, and Double Strike ability, Grund is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, albeit it comes at quite a high mana cost and is only feasible in those high mana cost battles.

The monsters of Grund, Chaos Agent and Fungus Fiend faced off against Drake of Arnak, Cursed Windeku, and Silent Sha-VI. Obsidian, the Summoner of my team, granted +1 magic damage to all friendly monsters but proved to be no match against the +1 armor boost of Drake of Arnak. The Cursed Windeku dominated the battlefield, showcasing its superior power despite its mana cost of only 6, while Grund, the primary melee tank, struggled to keep up. Despite the sacrifice of the Chaos Agent and Fungus Fiend, my team was no match for the power of the Cursed Windeku and Silent Sha-VI, who ultimately secured the victory for my opponent's team.

Do you like the Grund? Why or why not?

On paper, the primary stats of the Grund is excellent, but the high mana cost does hold it back. It may be significant as the kamikaze warrior-esque type of monster, where it supports the primary high armor/health tank. In terms of alternatives, its smack bang in the middle when you are looking for other high mana costs (7+) monsters with the Double Strike ability, and that's the thing I can't shake about it – it's not a bad monster, nor is it great, but its an okay monster that can serve a purpose now and then in battle.
