Despite their slow speed, the Mycelic Infantry can still be a formidable foe if encountered in battle. Their thick, fungus-covered skin provides them with a high degree of protection from physical attacks, making them difficult to kill. In addition to their physical attributes, the Mycelic Infantry are also known to have a limited level of intelligence. They rely on their brute strength to overpower their opponents. Despite their lack of intelligence, the Mycelic Infantry is still a force to be reckoned with. Those who come across them in battle should exercise caution and avoid engaging them if possible. If a confrontation cannot be avoided, it is essential to strike quickly and decisively to prevent being overpowered by the lumbering beasts.

Lineup Details

  • Obsidian (Summoner): +1 magic damage to all friendly monsters.
  • Mycelic Infantry + Grund: Powerhouse tanks to protect the frontline of the battle with lots of armor, melee damage and health.
  • Regal Peryton + Goblin Psychic + Queen Mycelia: backline magic buff monsters with many abilities to heal and provide additional armor in battle.
  • Mycelic Slipspawn: backline tank to absorb all damage away from the backline magic buff monsters.

As soon as I saw a level six Tarsa, I thought I was done because you would've assumed that the rest of the opponent's monster would be high leveled monsters. Then I saw the monster lineup and was left more confused. This is a high mana-cap battle, but my opponent went with the Antoid Platoon. Don't get me wrong; I love the Antoid Platoon as it's a fantastic low mana-cap tank with decent health, armor, and, notably, the Shield ability. However, it was weird seeing it deployed in a high mana-cap battle.

Nonetheless, their loss is my gain. The rest of the battle couldn't have gone better. I had enough high-health monsters to survive the Noxious Fumes ruleset, enough healing and armor being restored by the magic buff monsters, and enough damage to dispatch my opponent. How did the Mycelic Infantry fare? As good as I could've asked, it was super stout in defense, critical in attack, and supported by the backline monsters. I want to say I thoroughly enjoyed this battle, but I was left puzzled by my opponent's choices.

Do you like the Mycelic Infantry? Why or why not?

Suppose you are looking for a cheapish tank to lead the line in battle with the Shield ability (a pre-requisite). In that case, I don't think you can go further than the Mycelic Infantry, especially when you can pair it in battles with the other Mycelic magic monsters who will ably support it. Overall, the Mycelic Infantry may not be the cheapest option regarding tanks. Still, their strength, survivability, and Shield ability provide enough reasons why it should be in your splinterlands collection.

I always prefer to play Mycelic Infantry cards. Especially when the Battle Rule is in accordance with it. That is, when there is a reverse speed battle rule, Melee MYHOM or a battle rule where Melee attacking cards can attack from any position, then I like to play with this card.Your battle is very good.
