Owning a Complete Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set and Land – Update 9

I have spent the past week thinking about my next splinterlands challenge and whether it's worth tackling challenge two: getting my alt account and Chaos Legion cards up to a Diamond level. This would require me to level up my cards to:

  • Rare Summoner – level five.
  • Common monster – level six.
  • Rare monster – level five.
  • Epic monster – level four.
  • Legendary monster – level three.

I was running calculations, and to achieve the above levels, I would need to spend $1450 at current market prices to purchase the number of cards. When I compare that to my alt accounts value, $1,232.89, I will need to spend more than double the account's value to pursue and complete challenge two.

To verify whether that's feasible, I checked what my main account earns in Diamond League relative to its account value. My main account is currently valued at $7,646.27. Using Splintershare, I checked what the earnings for my main and alt accounts for the past three months were:

Playing in the Diamond League earned $14 more using my personal accounts, but my main account is fives time more than the Alt account. Therefore, from a returns point of view, playing in the Gold League yields a better return. Your mileage may vary, and there are many out there doing much better with much less, but I am purely speaking from my perspective.

So what does that mean for challenge two? I won't pursue it, as the numbers don't make sense. Should I instead be diverting the funds to create another gold alt account? No, I would rather save the money that I would've spent and shift it towards saving up for the new Rebellion edition and pursuing challenge three, which is purchasing Land. In seeking Land, I will also be looking to do some further tokenonmics on whether surveying and actively using the Land will be feasible. Whether I survey or actively use the Land, I do foresee some FOMO (not financial advice) in the future for Land as it becomes part of the daily gameplay, and I want to get ahead of it.

While you are trying to increase your stakes, I am thinking about selling it all.
The things which does keep me from doing it, is that I do need to invest a lot of time in placing the cards on the market.
Any idea, if there is a dapp which says which cards you did use the most? In that case, I can sell all the cards which haven't been used for some time. Without that I am crushing my SL income.

Any insight Peter as to why you looking to sell? Always interested to hear other perspectives on splinterlands. Like @costanza has said, I do think there is another bullrun in splinterlands and want to be in the game till then.

As for dapp, sorry dont know of any app. The only i can think of is Summoner Labs website which you can view the different win rates for all splinterlands cards over the last 24 hours (i think): https://summonerlab.com/battles

Costanza indeed has the same idea as you. I am not so sure about this. Maybe land could create some buzz, but I don't know.
I also don't like some of the recent changes, like for instance the soulbound cards.
But it is hard to let them go, due to the fact that of course I don't want to miss out a next bull run on SL. But on the other side, the $7K which they are worth now, is too good to miss out on.
