Hello friends! For the 282nd edition of the @splinterlands weekly art contest I have taken as reference the card called "Vulguine".

¡Hola amigos! Para la edición 282 del concurso de arte semanal de @splinterlands he tomado como referencia la carta llamada: "Vulguine".

VULGUINE

Vulguine are foxes cursed with vampirism. Vampires who refused to feast on humanoid flesh stalked the forests to find fresh meals. They hunted foxes in the wilds to satiate their need to drink blood. Having drained the blood from the fox, vampires would give thanks to the forest spirits and leave the body behind. The spirits were said to have created the Vulguine, raising them again as vampiric foxes.
Tokala stalked through the forest, hopping from branch to branch. She paused for a moment on a thick trunk, her dirt-covered claws digging into the gnarled wood of the great oak. She glanced at the crossbow bolt stuck in her thigh. With a quick swipe of her paw, she pulled it free. Fresh blood oozed from the wound, but it closed within seconds. She craned her snout up and down, searching for the familiar scent of blood. The blood of the one who hunted in her domain.

Catching the smell, she leapt from the tree and landed on the ground without a sound. She darted ahead. The vibrant greens and browns of the forest blurred past her. Her white tail danced behind her, flaring red like that of a heated forge as her pace increased. Smoke trailed behind her, obscuring her path. She was close to her target.

Her eyes caught movement ahead. An older man crouched behind a bush, crossbow in hand. Tokala let out a piercing howl. The man turned to see Tokala's fangs wrap around his throat.

Los vulguine son zorros malditos con el vampirismo. Los vampiros que se negaban a darse un festín con carne humanoide acechaban los bosques en busca de comida fresca. Cazaban zorros en la naturaleza para saciar su necesidad de beber sangre. Después de drenar la sangre del zorro, los vampiros daban gracias a los espíritus del bosque y dejaban el cuerpo atrás. Se decía que los espíritus crearon a los Vulguine y los criaron nuevamente como zorros vampíricos.
Tokala caminaba por el bosque, saltando de rama en rama. Se detuvo un momento sobre un tronco grueso, sus garras cubiertas de tierra se clavaron en la madera nudosa del gran roble. Miró la ballesta clavada en su muslo. Con un rápido movimiento de su pata, lo liberó. Sangre fresca manó de la herida, pero se cerró en cuestión de segundos. Estiró el hocico hacia arriba y hacia abajo, buscando el familiar olor a sangre. La sangre de quien cazó en sus dominios.

Al captar el olor, saltó del árbol y aterrizó en el suelo sin hacer ruido. Ella se adelantó. Los verdes y marrones vibrantes del bosque pasaron borrosos ante ella. Su cola blanca bailaba detrás de ella, brillando roja como la de una fragua calentada a medida que aumentaba su ritmo. El humo la seguía, oscureciendo su camino. Estaba cerca de su objetivo.

Sus ojos captaron un movimiento adelante. Un hombre mayor se agazapó detrás de un arbusto, con una ballesta en la mano. Tokala dejó escapar un aullido desgarrador. El hombre se giró para ver los colmillos de Tokala alrededor de su garganta.

Good! For illustration, he made an avatar of this character, so I worked only on the fox's head, I did all this using the pixel art technique, digital art.

¡Bien! Para ilustración, he realizado un avatar de este personaje, por lo que trabajé solo la cabeza del zorro, todo esto lo realicé usando la técnica del pixel art, arte digital.

Process | Proceso

For the creation of Vulguine, I started with the creation of a sketch, where I added all the characteristics of the character in question.

Para la creación de Vulguine, parto con la creación de un boceto, en donde agregó todas las características del personaje en cuestión.

Coloring Process | Proceso de Coloreado

Once the sketch is ready, I add a base color and on top of it I begin to make all the shading and lighting details. Taking as reference the color palette of the original character.

Una vez listo el boceto, agrego un color base y encima de este comencé a hacerle todos los detalles del sombreado y la iluminación. Tomando como referencia la paleta de colores del personaje original.

After everything mentioned above, I proceeded to add that light effect around the internal silhouette of the character and the blood stains on the face and mouth.

Después de todo lo mencionado anteriormente, procedí a añadir ese efecto de luz alrededor de la silueta interna del personaje y las manchas de sangre del rostro y la boca.
