Battle Mage Secrets: COUNTERSPELL IN BRAWL

Today is a holiday in our country, which gives us a long weekend to spend with our family and gaming. Yesterday, we finished our end-of-season battle in Splinterlands and I received some great rewards. My EOS rewards included 779 SPS, 2 packs, and 3 legendary monsters, which made it particularly interesting. I am hoping for even better rewards in the next season. I spent my long weekend at home in La Trinidad, and I thought I'd share one of my battles from brawl that relates to the counterspell battle mage secrets.

MY BRAWL BATTLE

I chose one of my battles in brawl, even though it is at a low level due to our guild's current rank. This battle will truly demonstrate the purpose of counterspell.

BATTLE RULES:
As shown in the illustration below, the battle consists of three rules: Counterspell, Aimless, and Keep Your Distance. Counterspell gives all monsters a magic reflect ability, causing any enemy who uses magic attacks to receive back damage. Aimless grants monsters the scattershot ability. Keep Your Distance prohibits the use of melee attack types in the battlefield. It's worth noting that the required mana for this battle is 32, and the allowed elements are life, fire, water, and earth.

LINE UP:
For this battle I chose Immortalis, which reduces health of enemy by 1 and provide void and shatter to allies.

Almo Cambio Lvl 27 mana, 5 speed, 13 healthImmunity, Phase
Gorgoya Devil Lvl 47 mana, 3 range damage, 3 speed, 1 armor, 3 healthFlying, close range, deathblow

ANALYSIS

Below are the possible reason for my win.

  1. I chose Immortalis as my summoner, as his ability combined with counterspell makes for a perfect anti-magic lineup. The enemy selected magic attack types for his line up, which include Regal Peryton and Mycelic Slipspawn, which deal 1 and 2 magic damage, respectively. In this battle, any monster with only 1 magic damage is rendered useless against me due to Immortalis' void ability. Additionally, using monsters with armor is also ineffective against this summoner. The -1 health reduction ability is also very helpful.

  2. I also used Almo Cambio, whose phase ability proved to be very useful. Mycelic's attack missed and, combined with Immortalis' void ability, the magic damage inflicted by Mycelic was reduced by 1.

  3. The Counterspell rule played a significant role in my battle as my enemy chose to use two magic monsters.
