Runi is one of the special NFT in Splitnerlands. Let's have a look at Runi today to have a better understanding of it.

Runi exist actually on Eth Blockchain. It is currently traded on the opensea market instead of the usual Splinterlands marketplace. The original idea for runi is to create awareness for crypto users. As eth blockchain and nft owners are having one of the highest volume of activities, Splinterlands is trying to reach out to these people that are still unhear of Hive blockchain or Splinterlands crypto game. As a result, Splinterlands created Runi, an NFT that can be traded in eth blockchain and at the same time, be used as an asset in Splinterlands ranked play in hive blockchain. To this date, i am still mind blown by this possibility and seeing how slow they are developing the land previously, i am very impressed on how efficiency the team can implement this.

One interesting new is that Runi has been trading quite actively with up to 10 Runi sale. It has been bought by a single account. So the question would be, what is so good about this hidden gem Runi??

Before we talk about Runi, i would also like to highlight that personally, i own about 3 runi. So this blog is not a financial advice and I may be bias since i am also holding on to multiple copies of it.

USEFULNESS 1: Special Skill

Runi is the only card in the whole of Splinterland game to have Rebirth skill. I personally feel that it is the more powerful than Resurrect. There is no need to worry about trying to keep your resurrect skill monster alive just in order to activate the skill.

USEFULNESS 2: Shield + rebirth Combo

Runi itself can be a mini tanker at the backline. With 1 shield and rebirth, it can actually tank like 2-3 sneak attack before its 1st death and another 2 more after rebirth. So in total, it can tank like almost one whole team of sneak attack!

USEFULNESS 3: Beneficial to the following ruleset

Like i mention, it has rebirth so it didnt need to rely on other to revive. And after rebirth, it would be free of poison. So in a way, it is like immunity where poison cant kill it off.

With a speed of 1, reverse speed is definitely helping it to go first. And being a neutral monster, you dont need to worry about the team color for the match.

For only melee monster matches, opportunity and sneak are top choice skill for melee monster to attack beside the 1st spot. One of the top choice for only melee match is to use mylor summoner. Runi is not afraid of mylor as it has reflection shield to make the thorn deal 0 damage.

It also excel in blast ruleset. One reason is the reflection shield, so runi pair with any taunt monster can actually make the blast ruleset to be non-existance. Another important factor is that it has opportunity. Opportunity can target monster that is not in the 1st or last position, so it bring down opponent monsters at the fastest rate, it also can cause the blast the damage up to 2 neighbour monsters which sneak or frontal attack wont happen.

Moreover, Runi has additional benefits beyond the battle arena. It is an important component of landplay, an important aspect of the game.

USEFULNESS 4: Bonus for landplay

Runi is insanely powerful in landplay. It has the following crazy effects:

1. 100% bonus in PP
   Basically it can half the production time or it can make 1 land production to be equivalent to 2 land production!
2. Power Source
   It is needed to have a power source in order to enjoy any landplay. So instead of needing to pay 5k dec to create the power source, just by using runi in the one of the 5 slots, it can also double count as a power source so you can save the 5k dec.

USEFULNESS 5: Unique Effects on landplay

Runi even have some additional effects that no other cards can do so. These unique effects are:

1. Free up one more slot to add the 6th monster in the land.
   Which is going beyond the limit of only 5 available slot. This is super important especially for top tier land like legendary, occupied, keep or castle.
2. It can boost the odd of finding totem fragments.
3. It can be even combine multiple copies to further boost its PP. Usually for a card that is already at the max level, further merging bcx will no longer boost its PP. However, this is not the case for Runi. Imagine you are merging 4 gold foil Runi, how many PP is it going to be, and dont forget it also come with another 100% boost in production.
