Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - 71 Out Of 77 Wins!

Time flies! Just completed the 93rd brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 2nd!!!

So for the final result, we were 2nd out of 10 guilds and got 1131 Merits and around 10 SPS! Look at that - 71 wins out of 77 matches! Unfortunately our participation was just not enough to fill up the frays.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won all 7 of them this time! Finished 5th within the guild despite a clean sweep!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

This was really a tough battle. I put out a strong lineup but my opponent's lineup was equally strong as well. Fortunately, Venari Crystalsmith had healing and that was enough for me to scrape through this win.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

These rulesets really test the breadth of my card collection. Skok Duskblight made a rare appearance and did extremely well with the Weapons Training ability. Ultimately, my cards were much stronger and it was a comfortable win.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

Captain Katie made her second appearance this brawl but it was Delwyn Dragonscale which stole the limelight. With such rulesets, my full Magic lineup had the damage output and was able to take down the opposing team faster than they could do the same to me.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

A nervy 13 mana battle as Sea Monster faced a formidable Cursed Windeku. It was a contest between self healing vs Thorns and fortunately Sea Monster had enough in the tank to overpower Cursed Windeku and got this win!

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

No Gladius cards for this battle but my Water cards had no issues overcoming a Level 1 team. Riverboat Captain's Blast ability was extremely awesome given my opponent's placement of his Taunt card. Hmm why are Taunt cards placed in the middle of the lineup though?

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

I flooded my lineup with Flying cards given the scary combination of Thorns and Earthquake. I had a hard time selecting the cards and I actually clicked the choice of summoner wrongly but there was no time to change it. Surprisingly, Dallan's Cripple came in very handy when I was fighting a tank with Void. A pleasant surprise here.

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

99 mana battles are rare but it's always a toss of a coin. One never knows what kind of cards the opponent will field. Fortunately, there was nothing scary amidst all the big cards. Countess Sinash's Opportunity ability was crucial in getting the hits effectively in a battle where all the big hits were landing all over the place.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 100% win rate, a clean sweep! It didn't come easy at all this time round as quite a number of battles were pretty close and intense.
