Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Almo Cambio Shines In Poison Battles Again

Time flies! Just completed the 90th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

Note: I skipped a few brawls because I was on vacation, but I have popped by in the middle of my vacation do one brawl!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 2nd!!!

So for the final result, we were 2nd out of 10 guilds and got 1023 Merits and around 10 SPS! That's a podium finish!

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 4 of them this time! Finished 6th within the guild.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Cutter Brieze

Went for a Martyr strategy for this battle given that there was Opportunity. In the end, it didn't quite matter as Drybone Raider was just too strong and my opponent had no chance.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

Played for two Gladius cards and brought two cards with Repair ability in this Weak Magic battle. In the end, Isgald Vorst was the main card that took out important cards in the opponent's line such as Pelacor Arbalest with Opportunity ability. The reduced damage output made it easy for me to secure this win.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell

Water lineups generally aren't strong for Little League battles I realise. Despite my preference for Water lineups, I tend to go for other elements for Little League battles. In this one, I opted for a Life Magic lineup supported by the Legendary Gladius Sola Ranjell. The Magic hits were strong enough to edge this win and there's no specific MVP since everyone dealt 1 damage. MVP goes to Mother Khala for giving all these small cards 1 extra HP.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

Earth is my worst Element and I just don't have any fancy cards apart from the default ones. This battle exposed my weakness in my card collection and there was nothing I could have done differently (except getting better Earth cards and summoners). Was quite ok to take this loss.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell

My lineup wasn't fantastic in this one as I was running out of time while adjusting my lineup. Regardless, Almo Cambio was the only card with Immunity so everyone else succumbed to Poison. The opposing Riftwing gave me a little scare with all that Scavenge but Poison still got to it. Just another reason why Almo Cambio has remained in my collection all this time, because he gives you wins like these.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Suspect my opponent didn't fill the 38 mana quota in this one so it was almost like a free win. Nothing special in this battle, but MVP goes to Riverboat Captain for the Blast damage which wasn't stopped by the opposing Bortus.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 83% win rate, not rusty at all!
